Mr. and Mrs. Harold M. Lull of
610 INT. Cayuga St, were notified by
the War Department Saturday
night that their son, Second Lieut.
Raymond A. Lull of the U.S. Army
Air Forces, has been missing in
action in the European area since
Dec. 5. He was with the Eighth
Air Force and was based in Eng-
land.
The message said that further de-
tails would be forwarded as soon
as information is received by the
department.
Lieutenant Lull, a graduate of
Ithaca High School who received
a BS degree at Cornell in 1939, be-
came an Army aviation cadet on
Apr. 8, 1942, and a year later re-
ceived his silver bombardier wings
and commission of second lieu-
tenant after 12 weeks of training at
Big Springs, Tex.
He went overseas last August
and his parents said today that
for his activities, between 12 or 15
combat missions, he had been
awarded the Air Medal with the
Oak Leaf Cluster.
Lieutenant Lull's parents were
also of -the opinion that he might
have been a member of the day-
light raiding party of the Eighth
Air Force which was reported in
an Associated Press account, over
Occupied France on Dec. 5. The
AP story on Dec, 6, of the raid
said that among the Eighth Ai
Force's losses were 11 Flying
Fortresses.
