Present: Jack Hubbell, Helen Smith, Nina Linton, Ellie Hobbie, Sue
Thompson
1. Several logos to represent the committee were examined. It
was decided to set up a poster at the Harvest Festival in
October and ask the community opinion on these logos. Cindy
Linton is designing another logo, Sue Thompson will call and
check on this logo.
2. Helen Smith is working on the Historical Cook Book. The
cookbook will be published for the year 1996. She has talked
to various people in the community regarding old cookbooks,
etc. Sue Thompson will make up a poster for the Harvest
Festival - asking for recipes. A recipe card enlarged will be
used as a handout for collecting the recipes.
3. Nina Linton reported the sampler quilt is doing well. The
quilt still needs to be tied. Approximately 12 women have
been working on this quilt. The group will also be doing a
wall hanging - this will be an enlarged Map of Enfield on
Green Fabric. They are looking for a list of Enfield
businesses.
A poster will be made for the Harvest Festival asking for
listings of businesses.
4. Discussion on the Historical Markers with the Enfield
Township. Original Historical Markers were done by the DAR.
A recent project of research was done by Roger Yampin (sp).
5. A new road was named in Enfield. Leiscester Road ? it is
located off of Bostwick Road. Information is suppose to be
sent to Jack Hubbell regarding the naming of the road.
6. Sue Thompson will make up a Historical Society membership form
to hand out at the harvest festival in October.
7. There was discussion on how much money the committee had in
their treasury.
