June 28, 1995 - Enfield Town Hall
Present: Gary Fisher, Ellie Hobbie, Sue Thompson
Corrections were made to May minutes.
Sue T. reported no news on the History book.
Sue T. suggested we need to inventory the pictures in the Historian Collection
to see what we can use for the book.
Gary F. reported no update on the postage mark.
There was no new information reported on the community cookbook.
It was reported that Randy Warden will talk to the Senior Citizens Group
regarding birthday celebration events.

Enfield Commemorative Committee
July 25, 1995 - Enfield Town Hall
Present: Gary Fisher, Alice Laue, Ellie Hobbie, Sue Thompson, Pat Doughtery
Alice L. reported there are 514 recipes for the community cookbook. She
will ask Kate Smith to write a paragraph about Helen Smith for the Cookbook.
We should also have 4 pages of history information for the cookbook.
The cover of the cookbook will be: Town of Enfield Commemorative
Cookbook - Map of Enfield - 1821 - 1996.
Color of the cover will be black ink and tan background.
Dividers - pictures on the dividers will be:
1. Wortman Hall
2. Grange Hall
3. Methodist church
4. Baptist Church
5. Town Hall
6. Enfield School - one/two room
7. Teeter Hotel
8. Community Building

Pat D. will ask the artist who drew here political campaign pictures to
draw pictures of the Hotel, Wortman Hall, and School. Sue T. will send Pat
copies of pictures to give the artist.
Pat D. suggested the committee draw up a budget for the committee to
give to Jean Owens for the upcoming town budget.

ENFIELD COMMEMORATIVE COMMITTEE - MAY 24, 1995
ENFIELD TOWN HALL
PRESENT: Ellie Hobbie, Gary Fisher, Sue Thompson
Book Discussion:
Babcock industry will be added to the Agricultural Chapter Gary F. is doing. Sue T. received
the Grange Chapter from L. Carpenter and more corrections to the Hillendale Golf Course story
from M. Hamilton.
Gary F. discussed adding weather information to his chapter.
Neno's flying business and tank business should be added to the book, need to contact them
for information. Also suggested finding out information on the Flying club at the airport at the top
of the hill.
Sue T. has not contacted any printers yet. There is still lots of "gathering" and "typing" work
to do.
Cook Book;
The committee would like the cookbook finished for Holiday Sales. A. Laue is checking for
more information, we need to start advertising, dice has list of businesses to contact.
Birthday Year: Sue�T. asked at the school regarding reservation forms for the celebration to be . „-
held at the school the school officials said it was still early and to wait until next year. The ;
committee decided to get the forms now and fill them out. Sue T. will get the forms from the Enfield
School to reserve the: school for March 16, 1996.
Posta
Gary F. will find the information regard the postage mark placed on enveloped at a local
postoffice on March 16, 1996. The committee decided to go with the Trumansburg Postoffice. The -
mark would readl Enfield, NY 175 years March 16, 1821-1996.
Speakers: Ellie H. called Marty Luster's office is booked for the March 16 - need to check back
with his office. Hinchey's office was called but his schedule is full. Hinchey's office did arrange for
the U.S. flag to be flown over the Capital Building on March 16, 1996 in honor of Enfield's Birthday. s.r
A certificate and the flag will be sent to the Town. Ellie will call to confirm this when the date gets
closer.
Partecipation letters:
Sue T. will contact the following organizations to ask for help during 1996:
Fire Department - Parade and Picnic
Memorial Day Service - Contact Churches
Baptist Church - Roger Brown Memorial Day baseball game
Other Group Participation:
It was suggested that perhaps the local school could put on a short play regarding Enfield
History for the ceremony. Sue T. will contact Mary Cole.
