It was a thankful day on Thanksgiving November 26, 1919, when Miss Elizabeth C.
Bock and Lloyd D. Rumsey both of Enfield were married at 6’oclock Thanksgiving night
at the Baptist parsonage in Enfield Center by Rev. Edgar Peterson. They were attended
by Fred C. Bock, brother of the bride and Martha Gray. After a short wedding trip they
made their home in Enfield. The Enfield Baptist parsonage was located at 144 Enfield
Main Road. The Enfield Baptist church bought the property on June 27, 1877 from John
and Lucinda Russell. According to records the parsonage was built in 1877 at an
expense of about $1,500.00. The parsonage was sold to Thaddeus and Olga Patterson
in May 1947 for $4,000.00 The total net profit from the sale after expenses were taken
out was $3,762.94.
