HomeMy WebLinkAboutEnfield Center Post OfficeOn July 11, 1846 a post office was established at "Enfield Centre" (changed to
Enfield Center on November 18, 1893), with Solon P. Sackett as its first
postmaster. William Barber became postmaster in 1866 (est.) and was postmaster
for 50 years, he died January 1918. The post office was discontinued on April 20,
1918, at which date Charles F. Wright was postmaster. This post office was
located at the northeast corner of what is now Enfield Main and East Enfield
Center Roads.
