Next meeting: Wednesday October 30 at 6:30 pm Water Testing: Peter and Tom did a test in August. We did not yet get that report or invoice. We looked at past tests and how they compared to other sites on the CSI website. Our results are on the website for the first 3 tests. We have not yet seen the results of the last two tests on the graph on the website, though we received the May results via email. Our results seem to be in line with other results on the web site. The next quarterly test should be done between Sept 12 and Dec 11, 2024. Peter and Tom and Becky will work together to find a time to get it done, and let the group know if they need more help, or someone else to do it. Pamphlet: The pamphlet is complete. Tom checked with 3 locations for getting it printed. Cornell Printing is the least expensive ($290 for 500 copies, $165 for 200 copies). We would like to get 500. Tom will check with the Town Clerk about getting it done in Enfield at the Town office on their new printer. If she cannot do it, then we will look into donations or request the Town pay for it. We will start to talk about where to distribute these pamphlets at the next meeting. Planning Board update: The Planning Board finished its work on the Site Plan revisions. Dan is getting them into their final form and then will send them to the Town Board. The Subdivision regulations are in the hands of the Town board to be finalized. Dan is submitting questions to Stephanie for the Town newsletter, for updating action items in the strategic plan, especially ones which may relate to water concerns. Becky Simms attended a Planning Board meeting to discuss the mapping information that she is compiling for our survey of parts of the town, to see if there is interest in municipal water in any locations. There were no questions from the Planning Board. DWSP2: We have not heard any updates about our Water Protection Plan from NY State or NYRWA (Jacob). Mapping and Survey project: Becky presented her continued work on areas of the Town where we might want to survey resident’s opinions on municipal water. She showed us 5 areas where there is the highest density of homes, and possible concerns about water supply. These include: 1) the main town area, 2) a corridor on route 79, 3) Part of South Van Dorn Road, 4) Hayts Road between Halsyville and Sheffield, and 5) the area where the new Breezy Meadows subdivisions are being built. She also shared steps that would be involved in moving the project forward. Next meeting we will continue to look at these areas and start to explore what questions we might wish to survey. Meetings and reports: Tom Joyce attended a summer meeting about CAFOs and there will be a followup meeting in October. He will send the minutes to this group. The US EPA Region 2 approved the final Cayuga Lake TMDL which provides standards for water bodies’ water quality. It they are above target levels then there must be a plan for correcting the problems. Stephanie sent the email reporting this to all committe e members. Trash Talk public meeting will be October 28 at 6:00 pm. Speakers and activities are being planned with Newfield and Ulyes groups participating. Next meeting: Wednesday October 30 at 6:30 pm
