Other Business a. 2025 Budget – Continue budget discussions, then adopt a “Proposed Budget” i. **On the 2024 Final Assessment Roll, the fire district total is $327,045,912. To determine tax rate, take tax levy then divide by $327,045,912 and then multiply by $1,000. 14. Public Comment 15. *Executive Session 16. Next Regular Board Meeting – October 1, 2024 *As required under Public Officers Law 105(1), the Board MUST be in an open session, then motion properly into an Executive Session, then when the Executive Session is complete, motion to return into the Open Session. Then, if this is the last item of the Meeting, motion to adjourn. *2025 Budget – 9/17/24 - adopt proposed budget, 10/15/24 – Budget Hearing, adopt final budget Fire District Committees 2024 *Subject to change at BOFC discretion Personnel – R. Wishna, C. Willis Shall be concerned with the functions, activities, operations, compensation, Workers Compensation claims, VFBL claims, negotiations and membership applications from the Fire Company, and the welfare of Fire District personnel. Legal – G. Stevenson, A. Teeter Shall be concerned with all legal issues that affect the Fire District. Apparatus, Driver Certification, Communications, and Maintenance (ADCCM) – G. Stevenson, C. Willis Shall be concerned with maintenance of fire fighter equipment, and driver selection and testing that will ensure that only the safest drivers operate Fire District equipment. Executive Board – G. Stevenson, A. Teeter Shall be concerned with acting as a liaison between the Fire Company and the Fire District Board. Committee will attend all meetings of the Board of Directors of the Fire Company. Grants – C. Willis, R. Wishna Shall be concerned with acquiring grants from all sources to benefit the Enfield Fire District. Finance – B. Rollins Shall be concerned with the financial management of the Fire District, including the preparation of an Annual Budget, purchasing policies, annual audit and review of major expenses. Capital Improvement – B. Rollins, C. Willis Shall be concerned with planning of facilities, facility repairs, acquisition of new fire apparatus and equipment to protect the Fire District. Insurance – G. Stevenson Shall be concerned with the insurance coverage of the Fire District and its employees. The Fire District shall carry all types of insurance to prevent losses due to adverse judgements for death or personal injury and damage or destruction of Fire District property, or property of others, by fire or other casualty. Training – G. Stevenson Shall be concerned with the readiness of fire fighters and EMS personnel. Ensure that all mandatory training is scheduled and conducted. Provides assistance to the Fire Chief when requested. EMS – R. Wishna, A. Teeter Along with E. Woods and A. Beckley, Enfield Volunteer Fire Company members (and emergency medical providers), this committee of four member shall be concerned with all matters that relate to EMS for the Fire District and the Fire Company. Specifically, the EMS Committee will assist the Board of Fire Commissioners with compliance and advise the district on EMS related operational matters. Fire Company Committee(s) *For informational purposes EVFC Apparatus Committee - Denny Hubbell, Jamie Stevens, Bailey Stevens, Keven Morse (Lil K), Ellen Woods, Corey Ike They will be researching the pros and cons of each piece of apparatus and what if anything we would change in the future. Also to review whether any consolidation of apparatus is possible based on it current usage and types of calls we respond to. The goal is to help be more accurate with the current needs based on the type of calls we run on average. It in turn should help the Fire District in planning and saving for future purchases.
