infield Dirt Diggers Host Races
On a cool but sunny Sunday,
Qctober 2685
racers enjoyed
the final Motoreross races for
this season at Enfield. This year
they hosted five races. The
highlight of this race was the
awarding of the High Point
Trophies for the season at En-
field. They were:

125 amateur — Rick Wohaska,
Penfield; 125 expert — George
Sheldrake, Ithaca; 250 amateur

Pregnetter, Trumansburg; Open
expert — Mike Lauterborn,
Churchville; Female Rider of the
year — .Lisa Auble, Truman-
sburg.
If you're a regular follower of
these races you'll know th®t
nothing gets in the way of the
racer. Not weather, not injuria
and not celebrations. It's not
uncommon to see a delicious
birthday cake being offered to
dust covered riders as was the
case last week. Della Snyder
baked the cake and birthday
celebraters were Glenn Snyder,
Mark Pagliaro and Glenn
Marion.
Saturday, October 25, 1975 was
the final race at Alberta Park,
Macedon, New York this year.
Brian Marion took a first place
trophy for 125 Amateur and Rider
of the Week -Plaque Award. Roy
Hubble was the recipient of the
Rider of the Week Award a few
weeks back, for the 250 Amateur
Class.
Phil Auble is again back in
shape and in the winning circle
after a long bout with a big cast
last year. Phil is the brother of
Lisa Auble, "Female Rider of the
Year" at Enfield.
Mike Kobre picked up a 5th
place trophy at Enfield. It was
the first trophy he had gotten at
his home track.
In addition to the high point
trophy for 125 Expert and 250
Expert, George Sheldrake also
went home with the purse for 1st
Place in Sunday's race for both
classes. You can't beat that for
good riding.
No racers had to be taken to the i
hospital. There were several
spills and bent fenders but no
broken bones.
October 26th winners were: 80

On Sunday, November 2,
several of the Enfield members
and friends rode in a Hare
Scrambles Race at Victor, N.Y.
Enfield Dirt Diggers members,
Brian Marion; Frank Auble, Roy
Hubbell and Dale Parsons are
receiving awards from the
Western Sports Committee for
they -fine riding. Ie the 125
Amateur Class, Brian finished
2nd and Frank finished 3•d. Roy
and Dale finished 2nd and 3rd
respectively in the 250 Amateur
Division.
On November 29th, the Top Ten
Riders of all the Amateures
(125,250, and Open) in the entire
Western N.Y. Division will be
honoredat a banquet in Webster.
In addition to the fine meal the
riders receive jackets and gifts.
Receiving awards from Enfield
will be Brian Marion 61h place,
Frank Auble, 81h place and Rov
Hubbell, 9th place in their
classes. Twenty riders all
receive awards with the and
lop ten getting race ,jersey etc.
Dale Parsons is in 121 h place. The
above rankings were determined
by the totahpoints posted at mos[
tracks.
A very attractive friend of
George Sheldrake's will be the
trophy gal. it should be a night to
remember by several of our local
riders.
The man from Moto -Photo will
be there snapping away so En-
field may have some core pic-
tures to add to their scr ip books.
Over 1000 racers pardticipated
this year at the Dirt Diggers
Track. A note of sin -ere ap-
preciation is extended is all the
racers, to Bangs AmbuI nee, the
Enfield Fire Company, armer's
Market, Newhart's Stor, Jake's
Tastee Freeze and all the people
who come early and stay late. To
the people who help during the
races, the flaggers, the starters,
the scorekeepers, the an-
nouncers, the cooks, the
registrants and the clean up
crews, another note of thanks for
their dedication.
The Enfield Dirt Diggers are
very very proudof their f st full
year as track hosts. ;hey intend
to combine their experidpee of
this first year with. t 'r en-
thusiasm for next year an make
next year's racing seson a i even
better one.
Now officially one We season
old, the Dirt Digwrs have
received complaints and com—
