Tompkins County voters gave trie
soldiers'bonus proposition a major-
ity of 1,164 at.Tuesday's general elec-
tion.The proposition was carried
in the city by 802.Reports from
other up-sta-te cities give substantial
majorities in favor of the proposi-
tion and in all probability It has been
carried In the state.
The bonus proposition was carried
in all of the city's five wards al-
though three townships,Enfield,
Lansing and Newfield returned a ma-
jority against it and tIie vote was a
tie in Caroline.
The vote in the city wards was as

First Ward.291-9-5;Second Ward:
145-17-4:Third Ward:382-17-5;
Fourth Ward:596-53-9;Fifth Ward:
447-37-6.Caroline was tied on the
nroposition,there being 196 vots for
