She is survived by a daughter, Teryl Veit Croclford of Carlisle, Indi- ana: four sons. Charles Veit of Mtr. Airy, North Carolina, David and Phyl- lis Veit of Hopewell Junc- tion, New York, Geoffrey Veit of Orlando, Florida and Thomas Veit and Hol- ly grown of Ithaca: 7 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her husband. Charles' Veit. There will be no visita- tion following cremation. A private service will be held at 'the families con- venience. In lieu of flow- ers, condolences may be sent to the Veit family.at 150 west Village Place, Apt. 120, Ithaca::Arranged- ments are being by Bangs Funeral Home. RUTH1114 RAFMAN ALPINE, NY - Ruth M. Chapman, age 79, of County Route 6. Alpine, NY, passed away at her home on Monday. July 4, 2005, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Chap- man is survived by her five daughters, Nancy (Sll$s) Ferguson of Alpine, NY Patricia (Alex) vonGordhn of T7umansburg, NY, Ju y (Doc) Mayo.of Alpine, Sally (Randy) Lovell of1- pine, NY and Tammy Cov- ert of Cayuta. NY: 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren with two more expected; sisters, Mabel Rumsey, Lll Willet and Helen Nelson, all of Ithaca. NY and Ethel Fenicchia of VT: brother. Roger Whitaker of FL; sisters-in-law, Ruthann Scofield, Helen . Jean Lanning, Nathahe Dougherty, Caroline Thall and Mary Jane Hodge; many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Cayutaville United Methodist Church for many years. The family will receive family and friends at the Vedder and Scott Funeral Home, 534 Church St.. Odessa. NY on Thursday, July 7. 2005, during the hours of 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. A Memorial service will be held on Friday. Ju- ly 8, 2005. at 12 Noon at the Cayutaville United Methodist Church. Rev. Steve DeWalt will officiate. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family in laurel Hill Ceme- tery. Those wishing to re- member Mrs. Chapman may do so through memo- rials to the Southern Tier Hospice and Palliative Care. 11751 East Coming Road, Corning, NY 14830.
