passed away at The Groton Nursing Facility on Saturday, March
19, 2005, at the age of 75,

on May 31, 1933, to pa-
rents Kyrie S. Burlew, Sr.
and May Hill Freelove. He
graduated from Ithaca
High School in 1951. He
and his wife of 53 years,
Ellen P. Burlew, were mar
ried on February 16, 19525
Norm was employed as a
linen salesman for 29
Years, and he then went
orL to work for the Newfield
Central School District un-
til he retired in 2004 due
to his illness. Beloved by
his many student passen-
gers who referred to him
,as "Mr. Blue," Norm was a
very well`liked and hard-
working employee.
Norm was a member -of
First Assembly of God
Church In Ithaca where he
served as an usher for
many years and also
served faithfully in the
church's food pantry,
transportation ministry,
and men's ministry. Well-
known for his sense of hu-
mor and practical jokes
around his friends, Norm
always had a smile and a
good word for everyone.
His favorite way, to enjoy
the outdoors Was Cutting
firewood, and he was an
avid fishermanbowler,
and treasure hunter.

loving wife, Ellen: and his
daughter and. her hus-
band, Lauri and Thomas

Hubbell, age 74. of 112
Hubbell Dr.. Ithaca.
passed away peacefully.
following a brief illness. on
Tuesday. March 15. 2005,
at the Cayuga Medical
Center, while surrounded
by family.
Born on November 25.
1930 in Enfield, Jeri)was
the son of Robert and Nel-
lie Updike Hubbell.
Jerry's active perso ality
kept him busy cutting
wood for his wood stove.
He also found satisf ction
in farming and gardening.
This passion for 'd' ing
in the dirt" made his job
as a self-employed prop r-
ty maintenance man truly
a labor of love. Jerry was
proud to keep the lawns
and shrubs of the
Collegetown apartment
complexes he was respon-
sible for, impeccably
manicured.
Jerry was a life member
of the Enfield Volunteer
Fire Company. where he
accepted responsibility of
grounds maintenana for
many years. Jerry also had
a special place in his heart
for animals. especially his
cows, his dogs and his be-
loved cats.
In addition to his pa-
rents. Jerry was preceded
in death by one b ther.
Eugene and one sister.
Leah. He is sun-lv d by
one son, Dennis (inda)
Hubbell of Enfield one
daughter. Denise Hubbell
of Enfield: four grandchil-
dren, Steven and
Stephanie Hubbel of
Enfield. Shawna (Eu iyue)
George of Enfield. and Ri-
chard Simmons of Phoe-
nix. AZ: two reat-
grandchildren. Ki anna
and Tatyanna George:
three brothers. including
Glenn Hubbell of Ithaca. to
whom he was very close:
his former wife. Mary
Hubbell of Newfield: many
nieces and nephews and
his beloved cat. Trixie.
Jerry's positive attitude
and warm, supportive na-
ture will be dearly missed
by his family and friends.
Services will be held at
the Enfield United Meth-
odist Church on Saturday.
March 19, 2005, at 3 p.m.
with the Rev. Nelson
Reppert officiating. Inter-
ment, in Grove Cemetery.
Trumansburg, will be
delayed.

wishes. no public calling

scheduled.

Hubbell, 'age 67, of 59
Harvey Hill Road, died
Saturday, September 24,
2005, at the Cayuga Medi-
cal Center at Ithaca fol-
lowing an extended ill-
ness.
Alan was born at home
on January 30, 1938, a:
son of the late Raymond
and Hilda (Jones) Hubbell.
He graduated from Ithaca
High School in 1955 and
served In the Army Na-
tional Guard in 1961. He
had worked for the Enfield
Highway Department in
highway maintenance and
at Cornell University for
several years in grounds
keeping. Alan was truly a
good man, and his family
will miss his wit and the
"one and only" comments
that he could come up
with.
Alan is survived, by his
brothers, Richard E., Rog-
er W.. Charles S., Jon H.,'
and Michael D., all of the
Enfield area; his sisters,
Carol H. Salino of Enfield,
Katherine H., Walker of
7Yumansburg,Virginia H.
Hall of Enfield, Marcia H.
Knight of Ithaca, and Nan-
cy J. Breen of Newfield;
numerous nieces and
nephews and their fami-
lies as well as numerous
cousins. He was preceded
in death by his father in
1992, his mother in 2000;
a sister, Margaret Stark,
In 1999; and by a niece,
Pamela Breen, in 1987,

Saturday,. October 15,
2005, at .the Enfield Chris-
