This hotel is said to have been started in the 1830's by the Wickhams and appears on the 1853 and 1866 Tompkins county maps. It was described by a traveler in 1883 as a "quaint little
hotel" But is remembered by a resident as having a second story porch running across the front and having a large ballroom on the second floor.
