He is survived by his wife, Mrs.

Updike, two sons, Vance Updike

Enfield;

a daughter, Mrs. Lester

of Trumansburg; a sister, Mrs.
Florence
Bullivant of the Town of En-
field, five grandchildren and several
cousins.

farm and civic activities, was one of the
oldest members of Waterburg Grange,
and has ever been active in Grange
affairs.
He waa r% director of the Patrons
Fire Relief Association, representing
Waterburg Grange, until elected Sec-
retary of that organization, succeeding
Daniel Mitchell of 7 rumansburg and
i has been active in the expansion of
that organization.
During the I)ast few years he had
served as Assessor of the Town of
Ulysses.
s _ Mr. Updike's last public activity was
y his service as President of the Tru-
mansburg Fair during the past three
years, and particularly during .the past
Year when the 100th annual fair was
held with appropriate observance.
4-r He was also a member of the Rotary
V - ; Club of Trumansburg and of Trumans-
burg Lodge No. 157, F. & A. NL and
+{ _ had been a member of the Town
Boards of both Enfield and Ulysses.
'`- Funeral services will be held Satur-
day, January 9, at 2:30 P.M. a

First Presbyterian Church, with the
Rev. G. H. Mickelsen and the Rev.
Arthur Moody, pastor of the Jackson-
ville Methodist Church will officate.
Burial will be in Grove Cemetery
