Driver Hurt
As Car Hits
Cow, Tree
Robert E. Cornish, 29, of the
Mecklenburg Rd. was seriously
hurt in accident Thursday night
i:i which his car hit a cow and a
tree and then burned.
He is reportedi in fair condition
today at Tompkins County Hospi-
tal with a broken leg, cuts of the
knee and elbow and a dislocated
hip.
The accident occurred at 9.30
P.m- on the Mecklenburg Rd. near
the Woodside Inn, the Sheriff's De-
partment reported.
Deputies said Cornish was driv-
ng east on Rte, 79 when a tire
apparently blew out on his con-
ortible.
His car crossed the highway, and
nit a cow and a tree and was de-
stro)'ed by fire.
