NEWFIELD - Barbara J.
McIntyre, of Shaffer Rd.,
died Friday, October 29,
2004, at the home of her
daughter in Machias, NY.
Born December 23, 1921
in Enfield, NY, she was
the daughter .of Leon and
Margaret Teeter Laughlin.
On June 30, 1951 she
married Ray McIntyre who
died Aug. 13, 1987.
Mrs. McIntyre graduated
form Ithaca High School
and Cortland State Teach-
ers School where she
earned her Bachelors in
Elementary Education.
She also prepared for her
Masters at Cornell Univer-
sity. Mrs. McIntyre began
teaching in a one -room
schoolhouse in Ithaca,
Hayts School and at New-
field Central School. In
1953 she left full time
teaching to raise her fami-
ly continuing to substitute
until 1973.
Mrs. McIntyre was a
member of the Enfield
Baptist Church, the New_
field Library Association,
Ne
e wfield Recreation
Committee. the Ladles
Monday Club and the
Methodist Church Sun-
shine Club. She was a
Past member of the New_
field Board of Education.
Home Bureau, 4-H Leader
and Mystic Chapter Order
of Eastern Star.
Surviving is a son,
Wayne (Nancy) McIntyre of
Wayland. NY; and a
daughter. Elaine (Bernard)
Perry of Machias; and sev-
en grandchildren, (Caro-
lyn. Matthew (Jessica) and
Patrick O'Conner, Lynne
and Lee McIntyre, Curtis
and Miles Perry); and four
great-grandchildren. Also
surviving, a brother,
James LaVerne; sister-in-
.IaW. Marjorie Laughlin;
nieces and nephews; and
a special friend, Leon
Poelvoorde.
A memorial service will
be held on Saturday, No-
vember 6. 2004, at 2 p.m.
in the Newfield United
Methodist Church with
the Rev. Thana Kibbe.

ways be seen smiling.

member of the Enfield
Volunteer Fire Company
and belonged 'to the
Moose Club of Ithaca and
was on the: Ritual Team
of the VFW. He worked'.

as Highway Superintend-
ent -of the Town of En-
field. He retired from
there i1t 1987.

*, 2000 at the Hospicare Res-
idence. Born April 14, 1923 in
Enfield,, she was a daughter of
the late Leroy P. and Edith C.
L*ow Whitaker and wife of
thq late Richard B. Teeter who
died in 1994.
A member of the Women of
the Moose Lodge #594, she
had been employed with Cor-
nell Laundry and Colonial
Cipaners prior to retirement.
A beloved mother, grand-
mother. and sister, Mrs. Teeter
is survived by her daughter,
Pekgy (James) Banfield of King
Ferry: son, Robert (Janice)
Toter of Ithaca; grandson,
SI}awn (Billie Jo) Teeter of New-

field; brothers. Ralph Whitaker
of Ithaca and Roger (Mary) of
Lodi; sistersr-triable-Rumsey-of
Enfield, Ethel (Gus) Finlcchla
of Ithaca. Ruth Chapman of
Alpine, Helen Nelson and Lil-
lian Willet both of Ithaca. In.
addition, she was predeceased
by her daughter, Carol Ann
Snyder in 1973 and by broth-
ers, Paul Whitaker and George
Whitaker.
Private services will be held
at the convenience of the fami-
ly.
