FATHER NOTES: Theodore N. Graham
Death (9 October 1926): Theodore Graham, the son of James and Ann Graham, was a native of New
York. He served in the Civil War, enlisting at Newfield, Tompkins County, New York, as a Private on 6
Aug. 1862 at the age of 22 years. Mustered in Co. A, 109th New York Infantry on 12 Aug. 1862.
Promoted to Full Sergeant on 1 Mar. 1865. Promoted to Full 2nd Lieutenant on 8 Mar. 1985 but not
mustered in. Mustered out as Sergeant on 4 Jun. 1865 at Delaney House, Washington D.C.
In 1870 Theodore was living in a hotel in Joliet, Illinois, employed as a bartender. He married Jennie E.
Gregg on 14 Dec. 1873 at Joliet, Will County, Illinois. Theodore and Jennie had five children; four
living in the 1900 Census. Daughter Sadie was born in Illinois. The family moved to Sarpy County prior
to the 1880 Census. Known children are Sadie (McCoull), Maude (Henzie), Elizabeth "Bettie" and Lillie
(who are twins). The family eventually settled in Springfield. Jennie died in 1919. Theodore was living
with his daughter Maude Henzie and family in Omaha in the 1920 Census. Theodore lived at the
soldier's home in Grand Island prior to his death. He died at the home in 1926 at the age of 86 years, 7
months, and 25 days.

Papillion Times - October 14, 1926:
Ted Graham, a civil war veteran who had been living at the home at Grand Island the past few years,
died late last week. The remains were brought to Springfield and the funeral was held Monday
afternoon. burial being in Springfield cemetery.
