She appeared on the census on 25 June 1870 at Enfield, Tompkins Co., New York, as Isabella
G. Graham, age 13, born in New York. At school. Enumerated in the household of Samuel V.
Graham (age 52, born in New York, farmer).1
"The third sister - Isabelle - (always Issy to us), was brought up by Samuel Graham,
(grandfather of the Sam Graham you know) and was the prettiest of the lot, and youngest. She
eventually married "Steve" Oltz, who was a close friend of your father, and lived with his folks
on a farm, just West of granfather Brewer's farm in Enfield (diag. across the 4 corners from the

Brewer residence). Steve was always an energetic cuss; moved to the "Center", ran a little
feed and cider mill, and used his engine with a threshing out -fit in the fall. Later moved to
Ithaca, and became a contractor in building, etc. You may remember him. In the end, I believe
he divorced Isabelle, married a young woman, and that was the last I heard of him. Possibly
you remember his daughter - May Oltz, a very pretty girl."3

Isabelle Oltz, age 43, born Sep 1856 in New York. Father born in France, mother in Ireland.
Married for 24 years. She has had three children (three living).2
She appeared on the census on 15 April 1910 at Ward 3, Ithaca, Tompkins Co., New York, as
Isabelle D. Oltz, age 53, born in New York. Father born in France, mother in New York. Head
of household. Divorced. In the household are her daughter Marah and son Howard F. They
reside at 436 North Geneva Street. William E. Brewer and his family reside at 430 North
Geneva Street.6
Isabella G. Graham and Jennie Brewer, are said to be sisters. Their family name at birth is not
known, but may be PURDY. Jennie was adopted by the family of Col. Henry Brewer, while
Isabelle was adopted by the family of Samuel V. Graham. It is said that Elizabeth Brewer, was
