JACKSONVILLE -Mrs. Gertrude Frazier, 75, of 587 Jacksonville Road, died of an apparent heart attach at Tompkins County Hospital Tuesday, July 17, 1979. 92 She was born in the Town of Lodi, daughter of the sate Or. James E. and Delia Beardsley Lovell. She lived in the Jacksonville area most of her life and was a 60 year member of the United Methodist Church of Jacksonville and a past president of its WSCS. Mrs. Frazier was a member of Ithaca Senior Citzens Chapter. She is survived by two sons: Erwin L. Frazier of Interlaken, Charles R. Frazier of Marathon, Fla; a daughter Mrs. Margaret Bickal of Trumansburg; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at United Methodist Church of Jacksonville with the Rear. RobertR. Moore and the Rev. Thomas Lange officiating. Burial will be in Grove Cemetery at Trumansburg. In grades 1-6 she attended a one room Red Brick school house where there were 8 grades and one teacher. Living almost across from the school during sixth and seventh grades, she was employed as the janitoress. There was no indoor plumbing and it was her job every day to carry a pail of water from the well of a farm house across the road from the school, clean the black-borads, sweep the floor and in winter make sure the old converted oil stove was running in the morning. This job paid $15.00 every two months. In grades 7-9 she was bussed to Lockport, and in 1958 was a member of the first graduating class of Starpoint Central School, graduating with a Secretarial Major. After graduation she was employed by New York Civil Service at N,Y, Statq Division of Employment in Niagara Falls for 3 months and then at the Niagara 95 Falls Air Force base under Civil Service working as a secretary in the engineering department.- From May 1960-70 stayed home being a mother and housewife. Went back to work in 1967 as a legal secretary. Became interested in genealogy in January of 1980._ This since has become her number one pastime. MARRIED: Keith G. Was baptized in the Congregational Church June It, 1922. Records show a later baptism into the Catholic Church at St. Francis Xavier, Rochester, N.Y. June 24, 1926. He was raised by his grandparents, Romaine and Emma Lovell. He met Rosemary Kellow of Geneva, N.Y. when she was attending Nazareth College of Rochester. They were married in St. Francis DeSales Church in Geneva, N.Y. They rented houses in Rochester and Irondequoit until 1949 when they moved into a small 2 bedroom house at 56 Birchwood Drive, Pt. Pleasant, N.Y. They, themselves, had built the house and it provided shelter for them and their children. A third bedroom and an attached garage were added in 1951. It was an on-going construction job building and removing walls in "The house that Dick built". They had 5 children by the time they retired and sold the house to daughter Suzanne and her husband in January 1983. Their retirement is spent in Kendall, N.Y. on Lake Ontario in the summer and in Mesa, Arizona in the winter. He attended Cornell University after the birth of son Jeff, but with three children at home, he was unable to graduate. Richard worked on many jobs over the years to support his family. He was a machinest at Gleason Works and daily ground gears for many needed aerocraft during the war and post-war era. He worked at extra part time jobs as auto mechanic and janitor service. His hobby is building and re -doing his house and summer home. Just out of school, he enlisted in the army, trained at Fort Lewis, Washington and Fort Ord, California. Was in Vietnam for 3 tours of duty (27 months), and had R & R leave in Australia.
