You are hereby commanded to receive from each of the taxable inhab-
itants=and corporations named in the foregoing list, and of the owners of the —
real estate described therein, the several sums mentioned in the last column
of the list, opposite to the persons and corporations so named, and to the
several tracts of land so described, or so much thereof as may be voluntarily
paid to you for the next thirty days after the delivery to yo"u of this warrant,
together with one cent on each dollar thereof for your fees; and after the ex-
piration of the time above mentioned, to proceed forthwith to collect the
residue of the sums'not so paid in as aforesaid, with five cents on each dollar
thereof for your fees; and, in case any person upon whom such tax is imposed _
',shall neglect;or refuse to pay the same,;you are to levy the same by distress
®, �andsale cif the'goods,and chattels of the person or corporation so taxed, inthe
same,inanner as on,warrants issued-by the board of supervisors for the col- -
lection of taxes in`towri`rand you,are to-make a return of this warrant within
`Yszxty daps after the delivery thereof to you;;and if any tax on real estate or
the taxes upon nonresident stockholders in banking associations organized -- —
Y under,the laws of Congress, mentioned in the said list shall be unpaid at the
time when you are -equired to return this warrant, you are to deliver to the
trustees of the said`district an account thereof, according to law. All moneys - —
received or collected by you by virtue of'this warrant you are to keep safely,
and to pay the same on the written" order of a majority of the trustees,;or to
the treasurer of the district if such an officer shall have been duly e ected and
