Town of Enfield Planning Board Minutes – October 1, 2014 – Enfield Community Building
PRESENT: Ann Chaffee, Steve Givin, Henry Hansteen, Poney Carpenter, Calvin Rothermich,
Dan Walker
ABSENT: Dawn George, Sue Thompson/Secretary
STAFF: Alan Teeter/Code Enforcement, Vera Howe-Strait/Councilperson Board Rep.
Dan Walker called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Steve motioned to accept the September minutes. Poney Carpenter seconded the motion . All in
favor with the spelling correction of the word “impact” (misspelled as impart).
OLD BUSINESS: Subdivision Regulations
It was agreed at the September meeting that all Planning Board members reread the subdivision
regulations so it can be presented to the Town Board; subdivision will be made a local law.
All Planning Board members agreed to the following change within the subdivision
regulations:
Section 204 will read “These regulations recognize two types of subdivision (see Section
203.1) which are subject to different review and approval procedures by the Planning Board at
public meetings. All subdivisions require review by the Ton of Enfield Code Enforcement
Officer.
204.1 stays the same – no changes required.
204.2 will have 2 sentences:
204.2 Minor Subdivision: resulting in two new lots does not require approval of the Planning
Board, but does require appropriate submissions.
REMOVE: “of less than 5 acres each”
Minor Subdivisions resulting in three to four new lots and no new public facilities will be
reviewed with required submissions by subdivider and at least one public hearing by the
Planning Board.
The Planning Board would like the revised Subdivision Regulations to be presented to the
Town Board in November.
Wind Farm update: The road Use contract in process.
