HomeMy WebLinkAbout2013 04 13 minutes planning board.pdfTown of Enfield Planning Board Meeting Minutes - April 3, 2013 Enfield Community Building 1 PRESENT: Virginia Bryant, Ann Chaffee, Dawn George, Steve Givin, Marie Vandemark, Dan Walker STAFF: Sue Thompson/Planning Board Recording Secretary Marie Vandemark called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Steve Givin made a motion to accept the minutes of the March 6, 2013, meeting. Dan Walker seconded the motion. Minutes passed unanimously. Marie Vandemark asked for Comprehensive Plan Group Reports: Stephen Givin reported for the Built Environment/Infrastructure (includes Housing, Utilities, Planning, Transportation) Group. Dan Walker talked to Buddy Rollins, Enfield Highway Supervisor, regarding town roads. They discussed the life expectances of the roads. Dan is also working on the update of maps. The group will report next meeting. Ann Chaffee reported that the Agriculture, Land Use group will meet after the Planning Board meeting tonight to discuss their report. Marie Vandemark passed out a report she wrote representing the Economic Development, Community Facilities & Programs group. Julie Schroder also submitted a report. They will meet to work on combining the two reports. Virginia Bryant reported that the Environment, Natural Resources group met with Ann Chaffee and Dawn George to work on the report the group had submitted. The group is changing the language of the report from “enforcing” to encourage different structures – protection re: environment. They still have more work to do on the report. There was discussion regarding what the goals are in the town regarding the Compr ehensive Plan. Should there be reference to DEC laws already written along with State laws. The group does not need to create more laws. The group needs to keep the Plan as simple as possible. Sue Thompson reported the History and Town Overview, Demographics (census) was completed just waiting for changes from the Board. There was more discussion on wind tower designs, agric assessment values. Virginia Bryant stated she wants to have reports from each group by the April 25. Ann Chaffee made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Dan Walker seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:05 p.m. Respectfully submitted, Sue Thompson, Recording Secretary
