"Celebrations" Comm.
To the "Celebrations committee";
On January 15,1998 our 50th Anniversary Committee submitted a letter to Mr.
Karl Heck outlining our departments plans for events commemorating 50 years of
service,(copy enclosed) to the community and requesting assistance in funding such
events through your departments "celebration funding program'.
It has been requested that we stipulate a monetary amount of our request to
your department before our application can be acted upon and having no previous
experience with such funding and not wishing to appear over zealous in our
application ,will offer that our original estimation of out of pocket expenses was to have
been nearly $6,000.00. That estimate has been increased with the recent death of
member Gregory Kirchgessner and plans to honor his memory.
We would therefore ask that your department consider a request of $2,000-
$2,500 toward our commemorative events with the understanding that we are grateful
and indebted for ANY financial assistance the Department of Planning can provide
under your program.
