HomeMy WebLinkAboutbasic enfield fire dept information_001014.) cont'd... - When fighting fires through windows be sure to remove all glass to prevent possible injury. • - Any injury no matter how small should be reported to an officer as soon as possible. - A fog pattern is always used as it is more effective and conserves water. - Discharge hose connections need only to be hand tight. - Hard suction line used for drafting must have air tight connections and should be tightened with a spanner wrench. - When drafting from farm ponds a line should be secured to the strainer to keep it off the bottom of the pond. - Booster lines should be taken up on there storage drums in a charged condition to prevent cracking of the hose. - Upon return from a fire or practice,wet hose should be hung on the drying rack and replaced with dry hose. - After fire or rescue calls members must return to the fire station to sign fire log and to help put trucks and equipment back in service. - All members should keep personal conflicts out of the department. • - Any grievances are to be reported to an officer. C. P. 15.) - Officers of the company consist of two catagories, line officers and staff officers. - Line officers consist of the Chief, 1st Asst. Chief, 2nd Asst. Chief, Captain, 1st Lieutenant and 2nd Lieutenant. - These positions are elected annually.(See By -Laws.) - To be eligible to run for line offices you must complete and pass the Officer Training Course given by the company annually. - Staff Officers consist of the President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Financial Secretary. - These are also elected annually. (See By -Laws). Board of Directors is made up of 8 members, The President, Chief, Captain Treasurer and 4 elected positions. These elected positions are 4 year terms. Each year one members term expires. (See By -Laws). • - Fire Investigation Captain, Fire Investigation Team, Fire Police Captain and Rescue Captain are all appointed anually by the Board of Directors.
