HomeMy WebLinkAboutTown-Board-Minutes-1-15-15-Audit-Meeting.pdfTown of Enfield Audit Meeting Minutes Enfield Town Hall Thursday, January 15, 2015 5:00 p.m. Present: Town Supervisor Ann Rider, Town Councilperson Mike Carpenter (arrived at 5:25 p.m.) , Town Councilperson Vera Howe-Strait (arrived at 5:27 p.m.), Town Councilperson Beth McGee, Town Clerk Alice Linton, Town Bookkeeper Debbie Kelley, Town Justice Betty Poole. Absent Town Councilperson Virginia Bryant. Supervisor Rider opened the meeting at 5:10 p.m. by leading the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. New Business: Annual Audit of Town Books Town Clerk Alice Linton’s 2014 books were presented for audit. There is one account which is maintained at the Tompkins Trust Company. The town clerk's annual report is attached and made a part of these minutes. Councilperson Carpenter arrived at this time. Councilperson Howe-Strait arrived at this time. Town Justice Betty Poole’s 2014 books were presented for audit. There are two justice accounts that are both maintained at the Tompkins Trust Company. The town justice's annual report is attached and made a part of these minutes. At this time Justice Poole left the meeting. Town Bookkeeper Debbie Kelley's 2014 books were presented for audit. Supervisor Rider stated in August the supervisor's accounts were changed to the Tompkins Trust Company. There is about $10,000 more in the Highway Fund Account than can be accounted for, about $700 in the General Fund Account than can be accounted for, and about $300 in the Trust and Agency Account than can be accounted for. She is working with the State Comptroller's Office on this issue. Councilperson McGee asked about negative balances in line items and suggested budget amendments should be done as often as necessary to keep lines in the black.
