The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Enfield was held Wednesday, July 11" 2001 at the Enfield Community Building, 182 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca, N.Y. at 6:30 p.m. with Supervisor Owens presiding. Present: Supervisor,Jean Owens; Town Councilman, Greg Stevenson; Town Councilman, Joe Schehr, Town Councilman,Mark Roach. Others present were Highway Superintendent, Ron Updike and Town Clerk,Alice Laue. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag Supervisor Owens led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Privilege of the Floor— eggy Cemetery Cemeteries. Memorial P Hubbell—Cemet Trust Funds are for Rolfe and Budd Fund is for Christian Cemetery. Correspondence— Letter from the SPCA introducing Nathan Winograd as the new executive director. Soil and Conservation News—July 2001 Town of Enfield has a dry fire hydrant on iradell Road- Reports/Committees Highway_Superintendent Ron Updike Last month been doing ditching and rip-rapping Harvey Hill. Hauling stone for our paving project. Two trucks in Newfield paving two days and two trucks in Ulysses paving one day. Mowing. Graded,york raked,rolled and applied a coat of stone and oil to S. VanDorn Rd,from Enfield Center Rd. to Bostwick Rd., Teeter Rd. and Fish Rd. Did equipment repairs on excavator and roller. Cut and chipped brush on Fish Rd. Cold patching. RESOLUTION#4 Resolution made by Councilman Stevenson, seconded by Councilman Roach. WI AREAS,the public health and the economic and environmental well-being of Tompkins County and its residents are dependent on safe and dependable supplies of drinking water, and WHEREAS, water supplies in Tompkins County originate from, or mix with, underground water sources and aquifers, and WHEREAS, it is possible to analyze these underground water supplies and aquifers to better understand their quality, abundance, yield, and flow characteristics,and WHEREAS, public health will directly benefit from additional studies, and WHEREAS, this increased knowledge will help to guide future development and minimize its environmental impacts in this community and in the County, now therefore be it RESOLVED, that the Town of Enfield requests that the Tompkins County Board of Representatives approve funding for the advanced study of all aquifers in Tompkins County. Discussion Vote— Supervisor Owens yes; Town Councilmen Stevenson, Schehr, Roach yes. Building Permit Exemptions Due to forth coming changes in the State code laws it was decided to wait until we know what the Code Enforcement Code changes are beore adopting building permit exemptions. Code Enforcement— Councilman Stevenson asked permission to purchase code enforcement reference materials which would be existing code and the new code laws. Motion made by Councilman Roach, seconded by Councilman Schehr that the Town Board of the Town of Enfield approve the spending of up to $200.00 for printed Code Enforcement related materials. Discussion Vote- Supervisor Owens yes; Town Councilmen Roach, Schehr, Stevenson yes.
