The Town Board of the Town of Enfield held a public hearing Wednesday,March 141", 2001 at the Enfield Community Building, 182 Enfield Main Road,Ithaca,N. Y. The public hearing was held at 6:35 p.m. and was in regards to the 2001 Small Cities Program. Supervisor Owens opened the public hearing by reading the notice printed in the March 91h, 2001 issue of the Ithaca Journal. Present: Supervisor Jean Owens, Town Councilman Greg Stevenson, Town Councilman Joe Schehr. Town Councilman Mark Roach was absent. Town Councilman Richard Holley was absent. * Please note that Councilman Holley resigned from the Town Board of the Town of Enfield as of February 28th, 2001 because of health issues. Others present were Highway Superintendent Ron Updike and Town Clerk Alice Laue. After anyone who wished to speak had spoken the supervisor closed the public hearing. The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Enfield was held at the Enfield Community Building, 182 Enfield Main Road,Ithaca,N.Y. Wednesday, March 141h, 2001 at 6:40 p.m. following the public hearing. Present: Town Board members present at the public hearing were also present at the regular town board meeting. Others present were the same as those who attended the public hearing. Superintendent Updike is proposing spending $110,000 under General Repairs under Capitol Improvements. Work to be done is—3 inch overlay of a cold mix of ones, twos and one a's along with a seal coat on the shoulders and do some ditching on S. Van Dorn Road from Rte#79 to E. Enfield Center Road. Also, do the same on E. Enfield Center Road from Rte. #327 to S. Applegate Road. Motion made by Councilman Stevenson, seconded by Councilman Schehr that the Town Board of the Town of Enfield approve the signing of the Agreement to.Spend Highway Funds 2001 by the town board members present. Discussion Vote - Supervisor Owens yes. Town Councilman Stevenson yes. Town Councilman Schehr yes. Town Councilmen Roach and Holley absent. Superintendent Updike presented information from Rochester Auto Collision on a three ton— 10 foot dump body Ford 2001, F-450 (F46). This truck would replace the 1984 GMC truck. Cost of the truck would be $27,044.30. The 1984 is in need of bodywork and general repairs. When budget was done, this was one of the vehicles mentioned to be replaced. Have until 4/15/01 to order. State contract item. Discussed cost of keeping 1984 on road, mileage, usage given truck. Motion made by Councilman Stevenson, seconded by Councilman Schehr that the Town Board of the Town of Enfield approve the purchase of a Ford 2001, F-450 (F46) three-ton truck from Rochester Auto Collision. Truck to be purchased under state contract and payments to be made from the Equipment Reserve fund. Discussion Vote- Supervisor Owens yes. Town Councilman Stevenson yes. Town Councilman Schehr yes. Town Councilmen Roach and Holley absent. Planning Board—Rick Chase Last forum session delved into compiling goals into objectives and strategies on meeting the goals of the vision statement. Meetings to be facilitated by Nancy Potter are— Monday— 3/19/01 —Community Based Facilitates, Programs and Housing. Wednesday—3/21/01 —Preserving our Rural Character and Open Space Tuesday—4/10/01 —Economic Development and Environmental and Natural Resources Wednesday—4/18/01 Town Beautification, Code Enforcement and Historic Preservation Planning Federation stopped having meetings because of disinterested members.
