The regular monthly meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Enfield was held
Wednesday, August 9a', 2000 following the public hearings. The meeting was held at the
Enfield Community Building, 182 Enfield Main Road, Ithaca, NY, at 7:10 p.m.
Supervisor Owens presiding.
Present: Supervisor, Jean Owens; Town Councilman, Greg Stevenson; Town
Councilman, Richard Holley; Town Councilman, Joe Schehr, Town Councilman, Mark
Roach. Others present were Town Clerk, Alice Laue.
Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag —
Supervisor Owens led the assemblage in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Tompkins County Representative Peter Penniman
Representative Penniman reported on the Public Safety Communications System and the
securitization of the tobacco settlement money.
Environmental Management Council — Bruce Johnson and Lynn Leopold
Mr. Johnson and Mrs. Leopold presented the Unique Natural Area Inventory of
Tompkins County to the board.
Town of Enfield Water Study — Steve Winkley
Mr. Winkley of NY Rural Water Association explained to the board the functions of the
NY Rural Water Association.

Approval of the July 12', 2000 minutes —
Special Town Board Meeting, July 12' 2000
Motion made by Councilman Schehr, seconded by Councilman Holley that the Town
Board of the Town of Enfield approve the adoption the minutes of the Special Town
Board meeting held Wednesday, August 9, 2000.

Motion made by Councilman Holley, seconded by Councilman Schehr that the Town
Board of the Town of Enfield approve the adoption of the minutes of the Regular Town
Board meeting held Wednesday, August SP, 2000..

Letter from Rhoda Linton in regards to the proceeds of the commemorative quilt raffled
in 1996 was read

Tompkins County Representative Dan Winch
Representative Winch spoke about how successful the Planning Forum meetings with
Nancy Potter held in Newfield were.
Enfield Community Council — written report.
Highway Department — Superintendent Updike
Highway Department worked with Town of Ulysses paving. Tentative date for paving
Colegrove Road, August 21, 2000.
Planning Board — Rick Chase
Rich Chase reported on Comprehensive Planning workshops he attended with Nancy
Potter. Workshops facilitated by Michael Kingsley
Fire Department — Fire Chief Stevenson
Quarterly reports to be put in board members boxes,

Monthly Bills/ Reports
Supervisor Owens presented the monthly bills for payment.
Motion made by Councilman Stevenson, seconded by Councilmen Holley/Schehr that the
Town Board of the Town of Enfield authorize the supervisor to pay General Fund
vouchers #144-156, dated 8/9/00, in the amount of $3,867.11. Highway Fund vouchers
#92-104, dated 8/9/00, in the amount of $30,872.90. Program Income voucher #4, dated
8/9/00, in the amount of $75.00. Enfield Fire Company SF -1, voucher #8, dated 8/9/00,
in the amount of $13,944.00.

New Business —
Supervisor Owens asked for the appointment of Rick Chase, Alecia Febo, Janice Johnson
and Jean Owens to the Enfield Rural Center Committee.
Motion made by Councilman Stevenson, seconded by Councilman Roach that the Town
Board of the Town of Enfield approve the appointment of Rick. Chase, Alecia Febo,
Janice Johnson and Jean Owens to the Enfield Rural Center Committee for the year 2000:

Budget Workshop scheduled to held Wednesday, September 6`h, 630 pm at the
