HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991-08-07 i� August 7, 1991 The regular meeting of the Enfield Town Board was called to order with the following members present: Elected Officials: Other Officials: Supervisor Etta Gray Town Clerk Jean Scofield Councilman Onale Mente Councilman Robert Linton Councilman Andrew Kraft • Excused: Councilman Donald Lovelace PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR Jean Owens reported that the recycling center is going very well . The County will distributing the recycling bins soon. The recycling center will still be open when the county starts the recycling pickup, MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING The minutes to the last meeting of July 3, 1991 were read by Town Clerk Jean Scofield. There were no corrections. Councilman Mente made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Councilman Kraft seconded the motion. Motion carried. MINUTES TO THE PUBLIC HEARING OF JULY 17, 1991 The minutes the Public Hearing on the Proposed Site Plan Review Law were read by Town Clerk Jean Scofield. There were no corrections. Councilman Linton made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Councilman Mente seconded the motion. Motion carried. A)DDITIONS/DELETIONS TO THE AGENDA Delete County Board of Representatives, Enfield Comminity Council, and "Junk Car Committee reports. Added were Cemeteries, Fire Department Financial Report under New Business. Correct agenda item under New Business to read "To Fill Vacancy on the Enfield Town Board unexpired 6-year term of Gordon VanNederynen (resigned 8/1/91) which ends 12/31/95. CCHKMICATIONS Charles Ward removes cars free if the car has at least two tires. There is a nominal charge if there are no tires. Cars 1973 or newer must have a title to be towed. The occupancy for the Town Hall is 51 people. A phone call to a "900" phone number was made on the Community Building phone for $50.00. The phone company removed the charge and put a "block" on the phone to prohibit "900" calls to be made. The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Ronald McFall , Acting Highway Superintendent. There is a vacancy on the County Planning Board (Gordon VandNederynen resigned effective August 1, 1991) . BILLS Councilman Kraft made a motion to pay General Fund warrant #7-91 for $1,863.99 and Highway Fund warrant #7-91 for $15,245.25. Councilman Mente seconded the motion. Motion carried. i h h 'ZO OLD BUSINESS The date for the Proposed Site Plan Review Law Public Hearing is schedule for August 14, 1991 in the Enfield School gym at 7:30 pm. The occupancy for the school gym is 125. Supervisor Gray will check with the Ithaca School Board on the possibility of using the new larger school gym. It was suggested using a microphone and speakers. The Town Board should be on a raised platform. Possibly a floor plan should be done and given to the school in advance. NII�1_BUSINESS VACANCY ON THE PLANNING BOARD The Planning Board recommended Jane Bassett to fill the vacancy of Gordon VanNederynen. Councilman Linton stated that John Basile and John Smith would also like to be considered for the Planning Board. Councilman Linton made a motion to publicize the vacancy on the Planning Board. Councilman Kraft seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Supervisor Gray - no, Councilman Kraft - yes, Councilman Mente - no, Councilman Linton - no. Motion • was defeated. Supervisor Gray made a motion to appoint Jane Bassett to the Planning Board Councilman Mente seconded the motion. Roll call vote: Supervisor Gray - yes, Councilman Mente - yes, Councilman Linton - no, Councilman Kraft - no. Motion was defeated. Councilman Linton suggested giving a list of people to the Planning Board and ask for their written recommendation and. have them publicize the opening. Councilman Linton made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Kraft seconded the motion. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:40 pm.
