LEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
Qordon VanNederyn reported on Frank Liguori ' s retirement party on
August 19, 1989. He believes Mr. Liguori will be going into politics
after his retirement.
Mr. VanNederyn reported that the County Planning Committee will be
putting together a booklet about planning in the county and
. municipalities. He asked whether the Town of Enfield would like to
contribute. He will know more next month about a deadline.
Justice Robert Bock told the Town Board that he will be leaving for
Florida in September for two months. He would like to retire from the
•t.own Justice position on September 30, 1989. Justice Bock would like
Ju tice Smithers compensated from his remainder of his salary for
ass wing his duties for the remainder of the year. Justice Bock would
be willing to serve in December when he returns if Justice Smithers is
unable to handle the extra duties.
MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
he minutes to the last meeting of August 2, 1989 were read by Town
lerk Jean Scofield. Correction: It was Bill Randolph, Schuyler
ounty Fire Coordinator, that recommei.ded that the Town, of Enfield
change the name of Townline Road that borders the Town of Newfield .
Councilman Linton made a motion to accept, the minutes with the
correction. Councilman Lanning second(-d the motion. Motion carried.
ADDITIONS/DELtTIONS TO THE AGENDA
Deleted from the agenda were reports l:r. om the Town Attorney, CoUIYty
Board of Representatives and Enfield r:onununity Council.
REPORTS
HIGHWAY SUPERINTENDENT
.Highway Superintended had no report. Councilman Linton asked that
Supt. Miller have Don Barber repair or fix the noise in the outside
Light on the .Town Hall side of the building.
Supervisor Gray made a motion to transfer money from the highway
equipment account to the road repairs account. Councilman Lanning
4Veconded the motion. Motion carried.
COMMUNICATIONS
A letter was received from the New York State Department of
Transportation. They will have someone re-evaluate Route 79 from
Applegate Road to Miller Corners and a flashing light at the
intersection of Route 327 and Route 79.
Supervisor Gray received a invitation to a meeting with the SPCA on
August 22, 1989. The SPCA will be at 1:1-je October Town Board Mr!(-.t ing
with another proposal.
A letter was received from 'the New York State Retirement Systems
regarding employees signing waiver of option to enroll in the New York
State Retirement Policy.
Councilman Linton made a motion to pay the General Fund Warrant 0-89
and the Highway Fund Warrant 9-89. Councilman Lanning seconded the
motion. Supervisor Gray will check -the the State on reimbursemerit for
lost wages before the voucher of $588. 00 for Roger Rumsey is paid..
Motion, carried.
OLD BUSINESS
TOWNLINE ROAD
Town Historian asked the Town Board if they knew what the problem was.
The problem is the road is being called two names. Townline Road has
been ident.ified- as County Line Road by the Town of Enfield since 1960.
The Town Board told Mr. Hubbell to give the Trumansburg Post Office the
house numbers on County Line Road. They, suggested waiting until
further developments o(---cur and to stay with our Town' s policy.
Potential' problem: Trumansburg give:_, out their own house numbers.
FLOOD INSURANCE PROGRAM
The Flood Insurance Program will be discussed next month after town
board members have read it.
DOG ENUMERATION
The dog enumerator was granted extria time until the end of Se1at-f=;nber to
finish the dog -enumeration.
NEW BUSINESS
SMOKING POLICY FOR COMMUNITY BUILDING
Councilman Kraft made a motion to establish a "no smoking" policy in
the Enfield Community Building. Councilman Mente seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
"BUILDI.NG PERMITS REQUIRED" SIGNS
Highway Superintendent David Miller will check on the possibility of
signs being put up.

ADJOURNMENT
Counilman Linton made a motion to adjourn. Councilman Lanning seconded
the motions Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 10: 20 pm.
