The regular meeting of the Enfield Town Board was called to order on
Wednesday, May 3, 1989 with the following members present:

Various town citizens spoke in regards -to town planning.
MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING
The minutes to the last town board meeting of April 5, 1989 were
read by Town Clerk Jean Scofield. There were no corrections.
Councilman Lanning made a motion to approve the minutes as read.
Councilman Kraft seconded the motion. Motion carried.

REPORTS
County Transportation Committee
Councilman Linton reported for Gary Achilles that the new county
airport terminal will begin in 1990.
Enfield Community Council
Supervisor Gray reported that Ronald Hickman, Superintendent of
Newfield School is still waiting for a reply on having joint
programs with Enfield,
Enfield Community Building
The volunteers are still working on the bathrooms. The town has
been offered a used refridgerator as a gift for the building.
Councilman Kraft will check will Roger Rumsey, Enfield Building
Inspector on what needs to be done to bring the Community Building up
to NYS Building Code by the June Town Board Meeting.
• Land Use Informational Meeting
The Town Board decided that they must give a specific charge to the
Ad Hoc Committee. Suggestions were given by Caroline Gritti-
Bingham and Marty Shapiro. A special meeting to set up the Ad Hoo
Committee and give that committe a charge was set for Wednesday, May
10, 1989 at 7: 30 pm at the Enfield Town Hall .

Assessment Revue Day is May 11, 1989 at 3: 00 - 6: 00 pm at the Enfield.

Election is Tuesday, 'November 7, 1989. It is planned that District I
will vote in the Enfield Community Building, and District I ; W J.11 Vote
in the Enfield 'Town Hall . Councilman Linton madr- a motion. that t1je
Town will use 2 voting machines and 6 election inspectors in each
district, Councilman Lanning seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Draft of the Environmental Impact Statement fnr Collegeview North
was received from the Tompkins County Health Department,
A Draft of the County Policy was received . The Town must
respond by Jun,- 1989 if they wi.c---.h to make any comments.
The New York State Equalization & Assessment rate is 43. 97 for
Enfield. Total number of sales was 951. ,
The Town Justices have requested 2 lega] size filca: Al rs n

OLD BUSINESS

Four calls were received in reponse to the ad in the Ll-.haca Journal
for Dog Enumerator, They were: Jody, Clark, Tammy Hamilton,
Christine Chrisman and, Jeanette Cnlyer. One person was not a
resident, one was a 17 year old but had a drivers license and the
other two were Enfield resi.dr:-tnt.s-. Councilman Lanning made a motion
for two of the board members to interview candidates and report back
to the town board. Councilinan Lanning and Supervisor Gray w(.-:,.re
appointed to interview candidat(-:73. Colincilman Mennte the
motion. Motion carried. At the special meeting on May 10, 1989
Dog Enumerator w-'Lll be appointed.

NEW BUSINESS
Request for Town Board Position on Pni:jte, 96
A request was received for the Town of Enfield Town Board' s position
on Route 96, Councilman Linton made a resolution to support the
relocation of Route 96 that replaces overburdened and dangerous Cliff
Street. This new road on We.--.Ft Hill essential , and should include
a convenie-ntly lncated over-pas.,,; (Plnn C w/f:)verpass) with a satisfac-
tory, comprehensive solution to traffic dispersion and flow within
the West Fnd. Councilman Lanning, sec;nnided the resolution. Xot i On

Fire Extinguishers fnr
Councilman Lanning made a motion for H Extinguisher Service: to
come and look over the Community Buildii-_Lg and supply the
extinguishers as recommended . Cnunc-i.lman Kraft seconded thi..:! motion.
