7:35 ,pm on February 24, 1988 at the Enfield Town Hall with the following
members present:

Councilman Lanning Town. Historian M. Clyde Hubbell
Councilman Mente Town Clerk Jean Scofield
Councilman Kraft
Supervisor Gray
Councilman Linton was absent.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Supervisor Gray spoke with NYSEG regarding the easement for electrical S
wires to be run for the new fire hall. They would be 30 feet high.
Supervisor Gray made a motion to approve the easement rights for the
amount of $1.00 cash. Councilman Kraft seconded the motion. Motion
carried.
The Enfield Community Council reported that the Afterschool Program was
started with 73 children in the program. They presently have 7 more
applications they received but cannot take anymore children. They will
be placed on a waiting list.
A letter was read from Mrs. Brown; Enfield School principal, supporting
the Afterschool Program as it is currently being run.
The Community Council has set up policies and proceedu.res and job descrip-
tions for the program. The bookkeeper is setting up the books for the
Council and has no problems. They had found that they are the employer
as a not-for-profit organization and must withold social security taxes.
The Council is in need of volunteers to help with their ,programs.
Peggy Hubbell stated she was not sure what her salary was as Director.
She was told $2,400 per year and the bookkeeper is paid $600 per year.
The Teen Program has been discontinued until they have more help with
the program which usually has .10 - 15 teens participating.
There is currently a teen program meeting on Monday evenings. It is not
sponsored by the Enfield Community Council. The leader has a agreement
with the Enfield School principal. to run the program.
The Teen Program has been a continual problem for the council. Last
year there was a broken window at the school. The Teen Group was raising
money to pay for it.
Councilman Lanning made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Councilman Kraft
seconded the motion. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:2-8 pm.
