o TOWN OF ENFIELD R.D. #5 ITHACA. N.Y. 14850 The regular meeting of the Enfield Town Board was held on Wednesday, December 2, 1987 with the following members present: Elected Officials: Other Officials: Councilman Larry Lanning Town Historian 11. Clyde Hubbell Councilman Roger Laue County Representative Jim Mason Councilman Robert Scofield Town Clerk Jean Scofield Councilman Robert Linton Supervisor Etta Gray PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE MINUTES TO LAST MEETING There were no corrections the the minutes of the last meeting. Councilman Linton made a motion to accept the minutes, Councilman Laue seconded the motion. The motion was carried. MINUTES OF SPECIAL HEARING Supervisor Gray read the minutes to the special. hearing. Councilman Laue made a motion to accept the minutes, Councilman Scofield seconded the motion. Motion was carried. COMMUNICATIONS Pat Podufalski reported that the General Fund Warrant for November should have been $8,804.76 not $8,804.71 as listed on the November. list. An invitation was read to the Municipal Officers Association Dinner on December 2, 1987. A call was received from Ann Jones for the United Arts Council asking for a donation from the Town of Enfield for $230.00 ($10.00 per head) . No action was taken. On December 7, 1987 there will be a Development Forum held at the Ithaca Sheraton Inn for $10.00. Jim Mason spoke about the December 7th County meeting for the selection of the landfill. site. The site for the compacting site is still to be determined. The County has approved 2 new positions in the Sherriff.'s Department budget: The County is waiting for approval of a West Hill State Police Barracks that will be manned with 4 troopers. December 1 was the deadline for proposals on the County Home. They have received several good proposals. Decision will be made within the next month. • Trumansburg Fire Department are a fund drive to raise $75,000 for a new ambulance. Motion carried. Councilman Linton made a motion to pay United Refining Co. invoice for $5,281.11 for diesel fuel if there was enough money at the end of the year. Councilman Laue seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Linton made a motion for Supervisor Gray to make the necessary transfers in the Highway overdrawn accounts. Councilman Laue seconded the motion. Motion carried. A Public'Hearing was scheduled for December 16, 1987 at 7:30pm at the Town Hall on the Fire Protection Contract for 1988. • Councilman Linton made a motion to advance payroll on elected officials. Councilman Lanning seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Lanning asked permission from the Town Board for the Fire Company to use the town truck for hauling stone for the driveway for the new Fire Hall from Seneca Stone. Supervisor Gray made a motion to authorize the highway superintendent to decide if he can spare the time and men to move a load of stone that is donated by Seneca Stone when feasible for the Fire Compnay. Councilman Lanning seconded the motion. Motion carried. Councilman Linton made a motion to close the meeting. Councilman Scofield seconded the motion. Motion carried. The following members were present: Elected Officials: Other Officials: Supervisor Gray Town Clerk Jean Scofield Councilman Scofield Town Historian K Clyde Hubbell Councilman Linton Councilman Lanning Supervisor Gray read the 1988 Fire Protection Contract. Public Opinion: The Town should not give the $14,450 to the Fire Company for the new building. Councilman Linton: Page 3, pp 9, line 4, "as previously described to the Town Board" should be eliminated. Councilman Linton a that the Town Attorney put in a performance clause after pp 10 before a vote be taken to read as follows: The parties agree that should the Town deem an audit is required of the funds of this contract, such audit will be performed by an independent auditor and paid for by the Town of Enfield. Councilman Lanning made a motion to close the Public Hearing. Councilman Scofield seconded the motion. Motion carried. Respectfully submitted, Jean Scofield Town Clerk
