as they were not available to the board prior to the meeting .
Corrections to minutes:
-Page 5 -Town Clerk appointment was seconded by Councilman Lann i ng and
the motion carried.
-Page :3 Atlantic Inland appointment-the motion carried .
Councilman Lann i ng made a motion to accept the minutes with the
corrections. Councilman Scofield seconded the motion .
Discussion :
-Councilman Linton asked if anything had been done about the problem
U.1ith r'ecinding the Fire District application . Supervisor Gr••:+.•r said
she had consulted with the Toton Attorney. It is Supervisor [ar•ay's
understanding that the toaan is not operating under Robert's Rules. of
Order , that vie are under tovin law and the appl i cation .,,,as properly
rescinded. The Tot--,in Attorney is sending a letter .
-Councilman La.ue asked about Joanne Lychal k' s key to the Town Hall and
the Town Clerk equipment that she had. Su.pery i sor Gray said that the
key has been turned in to Superintendent Thal l . The Deputy Clerk said
the equipment and files were moved to her house and the Tot,,1n Hall on
June 12.

ADDITION/DELETIONS TO AGENDA
Add - Report from the Tompkins County Department of Planning to the
Supervisors report .
ADD - Read the minutes of the Public Hearing - Supervisor Gray read
the minutes.
COMMUNICATIONS
1 . Enfield Vol . Fire Co. - The meeting room of the fire station will
be closed for use indefinitely as of July 1 , 1?87 due to renovations.
2. Tompkins County Planning Dept . - The office has been moved. The
new address is Biggs Building A , Dates Drive , Ithaca, N.Y. 14850 .
3. Department of Transportation - Explained the CHIPS payments to the
town and the requirements that need to be followed.
4. State Senator Seward - a letter on landfills . He suggests writing
to the Governor to urge him to make solid waste disposal a priority.
5. Mary Call - The letter that was sent out on June 2, 1987 was
inaccurate . The letter on June 2 stated that the Landfill tommittee
had made a resolution to create a "relief" program to reduce some of
the hardships that would be inflicted on those who live near the
landfill site that will be chosen . The resolution was propsed, but
was not adopted by the committee .
Represenative Dan Winch stated the the resolution proposed by the
Landfill Committee would have cost in excess of $30 ,000 and was
unadopted, but the letter that was sent on June 2 made it appear that
it had been . A resolution was adopted stating that Tompkins County
will - not accept garbage from other counties.
6. Tompkins County Youth Bureau - regarding the summer jobs contract .
We will receive $900 in matching funds.
7. Joanne Lychalk - resigned as Town Clerk on June ?, 1987 .
8. Frank Liguori - Computer study on traffic flow . Questionaires to
be sent to people . Lower population towns might want to pay for more
quest ionaires to be sent out . The cost is $5.00 per guest ionaire .
9. Public Service Announcement - The Economic Opportunity Corporation
is accepting applications for their Weatherization Program for
low-income and disabled renters and homeowners.
10 . Fire District application returned to the town .

REPORTS
• C:ountl.. Board of Representatives - Dan Winch reports that there is a
Rubl i c Safety Meeting July 2, 1987. It will address the problem c of
the need for more 'Sheriff patrols in the rural areas of th-e county.
Mr . Winch attended the open house for Foodnet , a nutrition program for
the elderly. The county remodeled the kitchen in the old hospital .
Mr . Winch suggested forming a committee to review the Town Board
operating rules to prevent problems in the future .
Coun.c i l man La.nn i ng asked if Mr . Winch would be willing to set down
with the Town to plan where the Town is to Sao in future years. Mr .
Winch said he would be willing to help .
Councilman La.ue asked if .a burn plant was to be set up at Cornell .
Mr . Winch r•epl i ed that there has been an ongoing discussion about a.
burn plant for years .
Cleanup Arrangements - Supervisor Gray called Superior , former•a.l 1 }_
Seymour._ . The cost to rent .a. SO yard dump=_.ter is $3.00 a. day plus
$?0 .00 each time it is dumped. They need at least one m'on th ' c notice .
After they are notified of the date , they will send a, proposal . A
September I date wj•?a._ discussed and having the Highway Committee set up
the arrangements.
Special Meeting Regarding Town Clerk - Supervisor Gray read the
minutes of the Special Meeting . Councilm.a.n Lanning made a motion to
• .accept the minutes, Councilman La.ue seconded .and the motion carried.
Enfield Commun i Q Council - C}.y.y Camp has started with 114 attending.
July 0 the Day Camp ,jai l l present the play ALICE IN WONDERLAND. As
the school will be closed to the Day Camp in August , Tomtr•an wj.:i l i be
running. The newsletter was mentioned .and most of the people present
.at the meeting did not receive one .

U[-4FIP,1I^HEG BUSINESS
Town Clerk - Councilman Lanning made a motion to appoint Jean Scofield
as the neU,i Toxin Clerk . Councilman Laue seconded and the motion
carried.
Jean Scofield stated her hours would be Tuesdays and Thursdays from
6: 00 pm to 8:30 pm and Saturdays from 9 :00 am to 1 :00 pm. Her phone
nnumber is 273-6 81 .

There i,,das a discussion about the problems with the Election
Custodians. The Election Inspectors are suppose to unlock the doors
and not the Custodians. If there is a primary, it will be held on
September lb. As the fire house can' t be used, Supervisor Gray iiwi 1 1
check to see if the school is available .
NEW BUSINESS
Cleaning Tot,in Hall - The Superintendent used to see that it was
cleaned before the meetings, but it hasn' t been done in recent months.
Supervisor Gray will check i.,iith the Superintendent .
Disposal of Obsolete Office Equipment - Supervisor Gray suggested
gi Y i ng the equipment to the Community Council for their annual
auction . Councilman Linton wouid like a list of the equipment at the
next meeting.
Councilman Linton made a motion to adjourn . Councilman Laue seconded
and the motion Carr• i ed.
