PRESENT:Ann Chaffee, Steve Givin, Henry Hansteen, Dan Walker
OTHERS PRESENT: Joe Dawson, Alan Teeter
EXCUSED ABSENCE: Rich Teeter
Dan Walker called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m.
Joe Dawson, Alternate Member, will fill in as a voting member for Rich Teeter at this meeting.
It was also noted that Steve Givins is formally excused from the October meeting due to family
illness.
Minutes for the October 2 were confirmed very short due to workshop held for the town. There was
no meeting in November.
There was discussion on if there was a budget for the Planning Board. Ann Chaffee wondered if Sue
Thompson could be hired to stand in as clerk for the Board. Sue Thompson replied that the Town
Clerk’s Office was responsible for the clerk position for the Board.
There was discussion regarding the open positions for the Planning Board, one regular and one
alternate position. Steve Givin stated he would like to apply for regular membership on the Board.
Sue Thompson will send Steve’s letter to Alice Linton, Town Clerk. Dan Walker was not aware of any
other applications for membership.
Dan Walker made a motion to recommend to the Town Board that Steve Givin fill the position as a
regular Planning Board member to start January 1, 2020 to December 2025, a five year term. Motion
seconded by Ann Chaffee. Motion passed unanimously. Dan Walker will inform Beth McGee
regarding the above recommendations.
Dan Walker discussed the new Solar Law passed by the Town Board. It is 2019 #2 Solar law
addendum to Site Plan Review Law. The law can be found on the Town’s website under local laws.
Dan Walker stated that next year the Planning Board needs to review the Site Plan Review Law for
new changes: changing the Commercial 1,000 sq. feet disturbance to 5,000 square feet not including
agricultural buildings and changing the reference of zoning for lot size requirement. Dan Walker will
draft a set of changes for the Planning Board to review for next year.
Dan Walker made a motion to change the Planning Board meetings to the 3 rd Wednesday of every
month. Henry Hansteen seconded the motion. There was discussion and it was decided to change
the January 1, 2020 meeting to January 15. The Planning Board will discuss at that meeting if they
would like to change the meetings to the 3rd Wednesday for the rest of the year.
Steve Givin made a motion to adjourn the meeting Ann Chaffee seconded the motion.. Meeting
adjourned at 7:55 p.m.
