August 31, 1993 - 7:30 PM
PRESENT: Gary Fisher, Wilma Fisher, Hilda Amberge, Ellie Hobbie, Jack Hubbell,
Sue Thompson, Pat Doughtery, Richard and June Wortman
Corrections made to minutes of July 27, 1993:
Grange did not sponsor the One Room School Reunion. There was a $75
charge which was paid for by donations from those who attended the reunion.
The Commemorative Committee is not looking to obtain an individual
zipcode for the Commemorative Postmark. They would like to only obtain an
individual Commemorative Postmark.
There were other minor corrections made to the minutes. A motion was
made to accept the minutes, it was seconded and approved.
Publishing Style:
Sue T. submitted a letter explaining the publishing style requested for the
History book. The committee requested a separate style sheet be made up to
outline a chapter structure for describing an organization or business. Sue will
have this for the next meeting.
Jack H. asked for an outline to give to William Basset, who will be writing
the geography/geology chapter. The committee decided on the following structure
(main points): glacier, elevation, drainage - creeks, soils, Enfield Glen, vegetation.
Trivet
Gary F. is looking for the permission letter from the artist to redesign the
trivet. Helen Smith thought she had given the letter to the committee. No one
claims to have seen the letter, so a new letter will have to be obtained from the
artist Martha Chacona:
Quilt/Wall Hanging
John and Helen Smith have the quilt for the raffle for the Commemorative
Celebration. John had taken pictures of the quilt.
Wall Hanging - Wilma F. talked to Mrs. Stoughton, who gave the Wall
Hanging to Jack H. Mrs. Stoughton said Nina Linton had given her the Wall
Hanging. Wilma F. and Doris Rothermich will continue to look for a new
group/person to continue the wall hanging. The suggestion of possibly doing a
signature quilt was made.
Recipe Book
Helen Smith requested help on the sorting of the recipes for the recipe book.
Jack H. said that Alice Laue volunteered for the job but he did not know if Alice
contacted Helen yet.
Historical Society Mail list was handed out by Ellie H. Sue T. will update the
Newsletter mailing list with the Historical Society Mail list.

ENFIELD COMMEMORATIVE COMMITTEE

Logo
A Commemorative Logo is still needed. Sue T. will contact the art teacher
at the Enfield Elementary School on suggestions for a logo design contest at the
school.
There was discussion on different projects the local schools could do for the
commemorative celebration. Trumansburg School has a good local history unit,
perhaps they would be willing to share their teaching plans. These would be
passed on to Enfield School.
Gary F. passed a calendar of "book deadlines out regarding the publishing of
the history book. Everyone agreed the dates were good and perhaps the
committee should use this calendar.
Respectfully submitted, Sue Thompson
