Dear Reasearcher,
I have had a request for information on the
burial site of a one Joel A. Bassett.
The information provided is as follows -
Joel A. Bassett born 1763or 6, Stillwater, N.Y.
died 5/9/1871, Montour Falls at home of son.
Resided in Enfield , N.Y. most of his life,
possibly a Baptist. 1st wife, Mary - buried -
Enfield , 2nd wife, Huldah - buried - Enfield.
The graves of the two wives have been located
here in Enfield but Joel A. does not seem to
be buried here.
Perhaps you might check your recdirds to see
if he may be buried in the Montour Falls area ?

DIED,
Of consumption, at her residence in Enfield,
on Sunday 19th January, 1835, :.,nl 47 years,
Ma ,wile of Joel Bassett, Deacon of the Bap-
tist Church in said town. Sister Bnsiett bad
been fan upwards of 14 years a member of the
Baptist Church in Sempronius, and for the last
4 or 5 years of her pilgrimage a much beloved
and esteemed member of the Baptist Church in
Enfield. She was called by her heavenly Fa-
ther to su8er an unusually long and extremely
Painful sickness, which sh^ bore with chrialian
resignation to the will of her gracious Lord and
Saviour, and gave abundant evidence of her in-

the loss of his companion, who for near V years

Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the
Lord, from henceforth, yea saith the Spirit, that
they may rest from their labours, and their
