Youth Program Report: Beth distributed copies of her October report_The Youth Employment Program currently has one person working and she is helping out with the Monday Makers and Photography programs. The Monday Makers (6 members)have been working on various jewelry products. During the first meeting in November, participants plan to have a Halloween party and continue to work on their projects_ Primitive Pursuits (11 members) and 4th/5th grade Primitive Pursuits (10 members) have both been doing a lot of fire building activities. The Photography Program(12 members)traveled to a number of spots around the area to take photos while continuing to learn basic photography skills (focusing, framing, etc.)And last, the Video Game Design Program(10 members)has been learning the gamemaker software and how to create backgrounds, make characters move and interact, and other aspects of game making. They have formed teams to begin building games together. Beth mentioned she would like to have some youth members join the Enfield Community Council. Karen and Carolyn agreed that this could be quite useful and that high school age would be appropriate. Summer Camp Updates: Enfield School, including all grounds and the parking lot, is completely unavailable for the 2009 camp session due to building renovations. Several alternate sites have been suggested and are being explored. These include lower Treman Park, the Trumansburg Fairgrounds, the campgrounds on Heins Rd_, and the Baptist Church. Karen suggested contacting Tim Joseph for help regarding the use of the Treman Park facilities. There was some discussion regarding transportation to any alternate sites and how that could be handled/financed.-Karen suggested using a "member item" through Barbara Lifton to get funds for this unusual situation. Carolyn has been in contact with the new principal of Enfield to ensure there are no conflicts for the 2010 summer camp session. Basketball: A decision on the concessions needs to be made. The 5ffi graders would like to run it themselves which was agreeable to the meeting members but felt that they should give the ECC 10%of their profits. An official decision is delayed until the December meeting. Newsletter: The newsletter did not go out as scheduled and there has been no contact from Debbie. Carolyn is following up on the status. New Business: Valleri Longcoy has offered to be the Secretary for the ECC. This will be brought for an official vote at the December meeting. There was discussion and concern regarding the state of the basement room we were meeting in and what could be done to clean and upgrade it for our meetings and programs. Carolyn offered to make some calls and see what could be done. December Agenda: Set date and theme for 2009 Harvest Festival.
