Put in jars as jam or jelly. Nellie Hubbell GREEN TOMATO MINCEMEAT 1 pk.green tomatoes 5 lb`. brown sugar 2 Tbsp.cinnamon 1 Tbsp. nutmeg 2 lb.raisins 1 c.vinegar 2 Tbsp.cloves Run tomatoes through food chopper. Put in colander and drain overnight. Add remaining, ingredients and cook one-half hour or more, then add 1 cup vinegar and cook until thick, then put in jars and seal. Mrs. Fred D. Drain. Put in large kettle. Cover with boiling water. Boil 5 minutes. Drain and repeat. Drain and add remaining ingredients, except brandy.` Bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer until thick,stirring frequently. Add brandy at last. Seal in jars. This will scorch very easily. Best to have Flame-Tamer or asbestos pad underneath. Ann Rider TOMATO PRESERVES tomatoes lemon sugar Scald and peel ripe tomatoes. Sprinkle over them their weight in sugar. Let stand overnight. In the morning,pour off the liquid and boil it to a thick syrup. Add tomatoes and boil until they look clear and seem well cooked. Cook with them, sliced thin, a lemon to each pound of tomatoes. Add all of the dry ingre- dients and mix well. Add 6 more quarts of water. Mix again. Add ginger ale and 7-Up Mix and add ice.
