visit-- Lyman H. Gallagher did all of the research for the original
newspaper article ( June 9 , 193% ) another article.appeared a
little later --Dr. Sherwood lived in Trumbulls Corners about that time --
he owned property there in 1848-- Lyman & Arthur **t were the ones
that wrote the State about getting a marker-- State refused--- it was
then that Staney Shaw became involved and the marker was granted.

Lockerby, 72, died at her home, 76 Division Street at noon Wednesday.
She is survived by her husband, George Lockerby; two daughters, Mrs.
Harry Morley of Waverly; Mrs. Fred Root of Binghamton; one sister,
Mrs. Carrie Webber of Waverly; two brothers, Ervan Ervay of Erwin, Pa.,
andFrank Ervay of Alpine. The funeral will be held from the home
Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. A.T. Mercer will officiate. Interment
will be in Tioga Point Cemetery.

Newfield, in this county, on Sunday morning last gave birth to four
fine children, three girls and a boy. the weight of each was five
pounds to a fraction, as we are informed by Doctor
Sherwood who was present, and reports the mother and children all
doing well. We have nothing more to say about tall rye.
