Taylor presiding: Present were, Justices Ronald Fish and Donald Eaton; Councilman Sherman Griswold and Ray E. miller. Also present were Engineer Wm. Howell; Town Attorney John Gardner; Assessor Henry Wadsworth, Highway Superintendent Louis Wagner, and bookkeeper to the Supervisor Rudy Krauklis, Town Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting and there were no corrections. Town Clerk read bids for lawn mowers as follows: Maxon International: Cain Implements: Booth Electric Price of Mower $1,593-00 e ..9 0y Price of Mower $1,270.00 Less trade-in 275.00 Bid $ 995-00 Price of Mower $1,123.80 *L,1 Motion was madeby,mr. Griswold, seconded by Mr. Eaton that the low bid of Cain Implements be accepted if the mower and tractor meet specifications, motion was carried. Mr. Harvey R. Prins, D. Engr., Deputy Director of Ragweed® Hay Fever Project of New York State, appeared before the Board p and explained the project in detail. Motion was madeby Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Eaton that the Town Board approve the Ragweed control project of the State of .rk. The Town will have no control.. Control will be maintained by the State alone. A letter from the State of New York -Department of Transportation Traffic Engineering and Safety Division was read in which Mr. E. E. Towlson, Regional Director of Transportation, advised the completion of the investigation made for reheing the speed limit on McLean Road. As a result of the study, two reduced limits are to be posted, a 40 M.P.H. limit between Routes 13 and 281, and a 45 M.P.H. limit between Route 281 and Stupke Road. Supervisor Taylor reported a complaint he had received of speeding on Bell Drive. He advised the complaintant to get a petition for a lower speed limit. He also had a complaint of speeding and heavy truck traffic on Lime Hollow Rd. Motion was made 11 ' by Mr. Fish, seconded by Mr. Eaton that the Highway Superintendent post the Lime Hollow road for truck loads. Motion was carried. Motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Eaton that bids for sandblasting and painting the water tank be advertised and opened on July, 7, 1971 at 8:00 F.M.. Motion was carried. Mr. Rowell reported on the 12" water line from the Cortlandville mall to the water tank. They expect to tap the line this next Friday,. June 18, 1971. Mr. Rowell also reported on the Robert Bean water and sewer construction on his upper Trailer Park. Motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Griswold that the Town Board write Mr. McNeil a letter stating they would be in favor of Compacting rather than incinerating waste at the Cortland- ville Mall property. Supervisor Taylor received a :communication from an anonymous resident complaining about junk cars on the Gale property on Carr Hill. Motion was made by Mr. Eatons seconded by Mr. Miller that the letter be received and filed. Motion was carried. The Highway Superintendent was instructed to get informal bids on a 3, phase, '5- horsepower air. compressor. Assessor Henry Wadsworth reported on Greviance Day, June 15. Only two people appeared. i Warren Barth reported on the Town insurance. The Board accepted the report. Motion was made by Mr. Miller, seconded by Mr. Griswold that S Justice Eaton be authorized to go to a Justices meeting in Canton, N.Y. July 21-23 inclusive, at Town expense. Motion was carried.
