Regular meeting- of the Town Board of the Town of tortlandville
held at the above time with Supervisor Frank K. Taylor_ presiding.
Members 'present were: Justices Donald Eaton and Ron Fish, Councilmen
Sherman Griswold and Ray E. Miller. Also present were Book --keeper
for Supervisor, RLidy Krauklis, Town Attorney John Gardner, Town Assessor
Henry Wadsworth, Town Engineer, 7.1m. Rowell, To,, -In Hgwy Sup't. Louis
Wapner, Water and. Sewer Maintenance, F. Walker.
Town Clerk read the minutes of the previous meeting and. there
were no corrections.
itSupervisor Taylor reported on a letter from the State Board of
Equalization and assessment, stating that the Towns, tenative rate is
Mr. Benz appeared before the Board to inquire about building a
house on his lot on Pheasant Run. Town Attorney Gardner advised him
to make application to the Appeals Board
Town Clerk Brookins read. a letter from Victor Bahou, Democratic
County Chairman recommending the following as Election Inspector's
for the Town of Cortland.vi.11e

LO Mcti.on was - arl.e by Mr. Eaton seconded by Mr. Miller that the
above recc+mmendati_on for election inspectors be accepted and appoint-
ed by the Town Board.. This motion was carried unanimously.
4!1� Motion was made by Mr. Griswold seconded by Mr. Fish that the
A Election Tnspectors be paid at the rate of 12.00 per hr. for time
actually worked, this motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Fish seconded by Mr. Griswold that the
Chairman of the Election Inspectors be paid $5.00 as chairman and
�.10 per mile for mileage to the Court House. This motion was
carried. These rates apply to both parties ,to include all Election
Inspectors.

unanimously adopted:
WHEREAS, The Town .Board at its regular meeting held on March
17, 1971, empowered the Supervisor to purchase 7,54 acres of land
owned by Frank Lambert, Jr. and Deborah Fogg Lambert, his wife, and
located at the intersection of Interstate Highway #81 and the Somer
ville Road in the Town of Cortla.ndville, for the sum of Twenty-five
Hundred Dollars ($2500.00); and

WHEREAS, Said Frank Lambert, Jr. and Deborah Fogg Lambert,ihi
wife, have delivered to the Town their deed dated April12, 1971,'
conveying all of their right, title and interest in the said 7.54
acres of landA and the Supervisor has paid then the sum of $2,500;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT
RESOLVED, That 7.54 acres of,land be, and the same hereby is
formally accepted as property of the Town, to be used for a. gravel
bed .-pursuant to Section 145 of the:.Highway Law; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the Clerk of the Town of Cortlandville be, and
he hereby is, authorized and directed to record the aforesaid deed
in the Cortland County Clerk's Office.

Highway Suet. .Loilis T•.a¢'nPr be author.l_zed to adver_tize for bids for

Justice Eaton presented an inventory of all equipment in the
Highway Garage and the Board d i scizssed. insurance coverage on all
Town Insurance.
;t1'�4 Motion was made by Mr. Griswold seconded by Mr. Fish. that
Engineer 14m. Howell be authorized to investigate and. get costs etc.
for a proposed fire district for this area of Cortlan.dv.ille. This
motion was carried.
Motion was made by Mr. Griswold seconded by Mr. Eaton that
all bills as presented by the Town Clerk and audited by the Town
Board be paid, this motion was carried.
