HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-07-1971Wed. April 7, 1971 7;30 P.M. Reaula.r meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Cortlandville held at the Town_ Hall on Terrace Road, Supervisor Frank K. Taylor presiding. Members present were Justices Donald Eaton and Ron. Fish, Councilmen Sherman Griswold and Ray E. Miller. Also present were Rudy Krauklis, Book-keeper for. the Supervisor, Town Eng. Wm. Rowell, Town Assessor, Henry Wadsworth, Hgwy Supti. Lou Wagner and Fred Walker,Water Maintenance Dept. Town Clerk read the minutes of the last meeting and there were no corrections. Town Clerk read an --order from Supreme -Court Justice Howard ,g,S)--A:71eller directing the Cortland. County Board of Supervisors to adopt a valid plan of apportionment, meeting constituional re- quirements by July 1, 1971. Motion was made by Justice Fish seconded by Councilman Ray Miller with the unanimous approval of the Board that this Order received and acknowledged ,be filed. Motion was made by Mr. Griswold seconded by Mr. Fish that the following Resolution be adopted: Be it Resolved that the bills now pending in the New York Si-ate Legislature which would created a State Planning Agency and a Planned Unit Development and would provide State financial assistance to State, Regional and County Agencies are definitely not in the best interest of the Town and should be defeated in the Legislature. This Resolution adopted, unanimously by the Town. Board. Town Clerk read a letter from Charles Alexander requesting 2 more r second_ed.by]Mr. Griswol.drthat tthe letter nbearef�rredvtorEaton the Appeals Board, motion was carried. Hawy Supt. Lou Wagner, inquired whose responsibility it was for Mail boxes in the Town ,Right -Of -Ways.? Town Attorney John J. Gardner will give an opinion in regard to this problem. Supervisor Taylor read a report from the Homer Fire Dept. that they answered_ 39 calls in the Town of Cortland.ville,April 1, 1970 thru April 1.. 1971 with an estimated fire damage of I'W,560.00 Fire damage the previous year was $11.2,500.10. This report ree d acknowledged and ordered filed.. Motion was made by Mr. Miller seconded by Mf'. Fish that 03- the two Justices be re-imbursed. for expenses to a. State Traffic Safety Meeting in Binghamton, N.Y. April 22, 1971. This motion was cafi,ried. Motion by Mr. Miller seconded as presented by the Town Clerk and paid as follows, Motion carried. General_ Fund $3464.34 H(7,TY Fund 4399.97 Water Dist. 1 695.16 Sewer Dist. 450.17 Water Dist. 2 282.72 by Mr. Fish that all bills audited by the Town Board be There being no further business at this time meeting was adjourned.
