Town of Dryden November 20, 1980
isPresent: Chw. B. Caldwell, J. Hunt, T. Bonn, C. Dann, Zo. S. Stewart
The Planning Board opened its meeting by discussing definition changes -
between light assembly and manufacturing. This was brought up because of
minutes from Town Board concerning Ithaca Intersystems and if they were
manufacturers or assemblers, light assembly, of their micro - computers.
Also discussed was Ludgate's farm stand which has expanded to a store
rather than stand, selling their own farm products. The board will do some
thinking on their own and at December meeting will discuss any decisions
about definition changes.
Chairwoman Caldwell was asked by Monica Crispen, Ag Extension Agent for
the County and on review committee for Ag District, to get some figures on
estimate of how land is going in or out of ag production in a given area and
what trend is.
ME *0 Dann stated some farm land was idle this year, like former Hammond and
Morgan farms, but most workable land was being worked. See no changes in
farm land in Town of Dryden.
Also Chairwoman Caldwell said the county and Cornell are talking again,
about a peripheral road and wanted our imput. They specifically asked how
Hanshaw Road area was going to happen. Chairwoman Caldwell said she didn't
know where they could come across.
She also stated that Town of Ithaca, on their official map, has a right of
wag going between P and.0 area and Senior Citizens. She didn't think there
was enough room for road.
County once talked about going through old Monkey Run area but Cornell
plantation there and had too many special things there. But possibly, Cornell
changing mind since then.
Only sensible plan would be Varna area as stated by Mr. Hunt. Further out
there are steeper grades.
The Planning Board made no suggestions until they see something and see
what alternatives are, for Town of Dryden.
Chairwoman Caldwell had a ruling from Town Attorney Perkins concerning
Mr. Suttons lots on Eagles Head Road and one on Ringwood Court, Attorney
Perkins stated if Planning Board considered it as one parcel by adding the
two frontages together, it was okay to issue a building permit. If they were
to divide it so you would still have two -large parcels, they would have to
see Zoning. Board of Appeals. If they were to sell a lot on Eagles Head Road
to augument a lot in other sub - division of Ringwood Court, Planning Board
still would not have to worry about it. Basically just increasing size.
® Mr. Bonn stated that the new George Road connection, comes over to Route
38. is not well lighted or no signs designating an intersection. Mr. Bonn
made a motion that the Planning Board recommend to the Town Board that they

ask the state to put up intersection indicators, signs, at the
intersection -
Route 38. The motion was second by Mr. Dann. All members voted yes, motion
carried.
Nothing was done concerning Peaceful Drive, due to Mr. Sutton not getting
enough information from surveyor, etc. Possibly will not see anything on
this matter until. Spring.
