Agenda - Etna rezoning - The Town Board requested to meet with the Planning
Board. Town Board members present were L. Gridley, C. Cotterill, Helen
AmdIir 'Goan of Dryden Attorney also present. Chairman Caldwell stated a letter
was received from Etna resident Selma Neilson on the matter of rezoning. Copy
of letter from the Planning Board on rezoning to the 'Town Board was read. The
Planning Boards recommendation that the area proposed by the petitioners from
the Etna. area with the exception of the area along route 13 currently desig-
nated. RD be included in the new cata.gory. Current residents of this RD area
would prefer the more restrictive residential designation of that area also.

Discussion* Mr. Frank Li.g,iori, County Planning gave a report on the route 13
corridor. Selection of route 13 on existing alignment as the corridor to be
designated as the futiae route 13 is inappropriate. Route 13 on its existing
alignment sholrld be improved but in the interim it should not be designated as.
the rogte 13 corridor. after improvement on its existing alignment, contined
growth along the highway is bo!ind to reduce the carrying capacity immediately
after it is reconstructed. Improvement on the highway will be done in portions
any? phases on its existing alignment. At this time a new route 13 is in the
fviture. A question was raised about the Department of Transportation and hoer
often do they alter their plans. Committments are long range and in a situatio
• xch as this the opportunities are there to alter it. The first priority is
the octopus of Rt. 96. Second is through the city (Ithaca) itself from

is in agreement with the letter written by the Planning Board to the Town
Board on the Etna rezoning matter, Board Member G. Hanford was in agreement
with commerical development on Rt. 13. board R;ember M. Peck stated this was
not desirable residential area. Selma Neilson Etna resident talked about not
looking too far ahead in this situation. 6he cited such examples as money,
general economy, shortage of gasoline. h4r's. Neilson also talked about the
petition and the percentage of signatures.
Discussion on b,iilding permits - Very few permits issued on route 13. F e v

seconded motion,
Clint Cotterill presented plans of subdivision, Dryden, N.Y. - 7 lots,
Lot 17 Seetion 2 - Part of lot X16 was sold with lot #150 Remaining portion
of lot ##16 was joined with lot ##17. This makes the lot larger. This will halue
to be changed on map. Will be 2 lots instead of original 3 lots. Sits other
lots will. be included in other section. Road completed and approved. Helen
Amdur, Torn of Dryden Attorney will be contacted concerning recording of deed,
and deeding road to Town.
k Liguori - Co!inty Planning discussed the Forum which will be held Jan, 31,
