Dear Happ:
The Dryden.Planning Doard. received your sketch plan submitted
September 8, 1965. We reviewed it briefly but with great interest
. at our last regular meeting on September 16, and agreed that your
plans will constitute a Bea. jor Subdivision. As I told you by phone,
we would like very much to have you come to our next Planning Board
! meeting so as to discuss in more detail your specific plans. The
j Plan as drawn is generally excellent, although we do have some minor
suggestions to make.
Our next meeting will be October 21 (regular meetings are held
i` the third Thursday of each month and we hope that
.you ; y ) p , you will be able
to be there. then to go over your plans. The : neeting starts at 8 p.m.,
i but you can come anytime after that if it is more convenient. I
i. will expect you there unless you let me know that you'll be unable to
! attend.
I am enclosing a copy ofethe complete Subdivision Rules and Reg -
i ulations for your information. You can see why a copy was not sent
out to all residents. The brief one you saw is not very detailed nor
very clear. It was designed only to acquaint residents to the fact
that there is an ordinance governing subdivisions; it specifically
:tes that the detailed regulations can be obtained from the Town
Clerk's Office. I have marked especially pertinent sections on your
copy o
We
will
look
forward to
seeing
you on October
21.
Please feel
free to
call
me if
you have
any questions
prior
to
the
meeting.,
Sincerely yours,
Peter A. Curtiss, Chairman
Town of Dryden Planning Board

TON.J PLANNING BOARD, TOWN OF DRYDEN, NE Pr YORK OCTOBER 21. 1965
The Planning Board for the Town of Dryden met October 21, 1965
in the Town Hall at 8:15 with members Hanford, Sheffy, Hardesty,
Lengemann, and Chairman Curtiss present. A correction on the minutes
of the last meeting was made and later approved.
Mr. Sadd of the Honey - gutter Products Corp. was present. Chair-
! man Curtiss stated that members of the Planning Board agree that the
sketch plan, as presented, will constitute a major subdivision. Various
questions relative to water easements, lot sizes, etc, were asked by
the Board concerning the sketch plan and covenants. Dr. Sheffy later
suggested that a letter be sent to Hr. Case, enclosing a copy of the
sketch plan, and ask him to submit to Hr. Sadd a cross - section out-
lining the requirements for the road and to send a copy to the Board.
It.was agreed the Planning Board needs some kind of printed specifica-
tions for road building. Also, it was determined that Chairman Curtiss
should write a letter to Hr. Sadd stating ,further requirements and
adjustments to the present sketch plan in order that final approval
can be made by the Board.
Chairman Curtiss reported on the 27th Annual Planning Institute
qf the NYS Federation of Planning Organisations which was held in
Niagara Falls Oct. 18 -19. He stated that typed minutes on each of the
talks at the meeting will be ,forwarded to our Planning Board. Special
mention was made of the talks on Airport Problems, Selling Zoning,
Regional Junk Yards, and Underground Electrical Service. Chairman
Curtiss commented that it was rewarding to attend this meeting and to
meet so many people involved with a wide variety of planning problems,
some quite similar to ours. An example of this is a special trailer
ordinance one town had prior to zoning. Curtiss plans to obtain a
copy o,f this ordinance and see if it might be beneficial to Dryden.
There was a brief discussion on town parks. Chairman Curtiss has
asked Mr. Gridley to check with Mr. Abrams again on land owners in the
park area he (Abrams).had suggested - -on Fall Creek near the new Route
13 bridge. Other park areas.were suggested: although it would be nice
to have a park on a creek, it is realized that this may not be essential
or necessary. All members agreed to keep their eyes and ears open for
other possibilities. The Planning Board has not forgotten the "blank
check" given by the Dryden Kiwanis Club for an activity such as a park
or recreational equipment. It is hoped that before long some decision
• can be made regarding a park

The Planning Board ,feels that the information of new subdivisions
can be recognized by the Assessor at the time of the transfer of the
property. These new subdivisions are not being brought to the attention
of the Planning Board.
The GIRPB established a committee, of which Mrs. Hardesty is a
member, to prepare a suggested ordinance which the participating GIRPB
towns could adopt for enforcement of the new NYS Junk Yard Ordinance.
This committee has the authorityto obtain legal counsel. This is the
type of activity that we are leased to see GIRPB do.
A special meeting for finalizing road names in the NW section of
town. is scheduled for Nov. 4.
Meeting adjourned at ll.30 P. M.
Respectfully submitted,
Marion Steger, Sec.
