TOWN PLANNING BOARD, TOWN OF DRYDEN, NEW YORN
The PZannin'g Board for the Town o.f Dryden met May 20, 1965 in the
Town Building at 8:25 P. M. with members Lengemann, Chairman Curtiss,
and Dr. Benson present. Minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Dr. Benson reported that he had checked with Helen Amdur and ,got
official council that - -all properties, including the Cornelius deal,
are eligible to be brought b'ef'ore the Town Planning Board, based on
Section #2 of the Land Subdivision. Grant has been so notified.
The Junk Yard Ordinance apparently has had some @,ffect on two of
the local junk yards as they are making an e,f,fort to clean up. No
reading has been given on the Junk, Yard Ordinance but Dr. Benson plans
to.check with Helen Amdur again.
It was clarified that the Planning Board can make proposals for
road naming to the County on the county roads.
Hrs. Hardesty,L who was unable to attend the meeting tonight, had
called Chairman Curtiss regarding a meeting of the GIRPB. The Dryden
11701" application has been submitted and received in Albany. In Danby
they-have their 11701" Zoning Regulations and Subdivision Re,gula0tions
in draft .form. The GIRPB made a ,formal request to have us submit to
them major subdivisions for review and comment. The Board acts in an
advisory capacity and can alert -the Town Planning'Board o.f existing
conflicts.
After some discussion the Board determined that there is sufficient
time after the submission of the sketch plan so that
. i,f it is determined
to be a major subdivision we can submit the sketch p1 -an to the GIRPB
for review prior to the subdivider submitting a preliminary lay -out.
Mr. Denman has been in touch with Mr. Curtiss and he has ,given a
contract proposal of 70 per house under the Century System; this to
include-the cost of the _post card for each home owner. Work could be
done in 1965 and payment would be made after the job is completed. It
is now .felt that there are about 2200 house units in the Town of Dryden.
This zoo involve an expenditure of about $15004000 The Town Board '
meets June 8, 1965,., at which time Chairman Curtiss will present this
pro po s.al .
Progress is being made on recommendations for road names. This
in torn will be presented to the Town Board.
Chairman Curtiss read a letter of resignation from Dave Hiller..
�. Curtiss reported that Hr. Saroka personally came to see him and said
he was resigning from the Planning Board, as requested. 21r. Saroka
j doesn't plan to write a ,formal letter but Curtiss will authenticate,
this in writing.

Chairman Curtiss recommended to Dr. Benson that the Town Board
take immediate action to secure replacements for both Dave Miller and
Mr. Saroka.
Dr. Benson stated that the Koppers Co. has been dispossessed from
the Town of Ithaca. Koppers looked seriously at the Town o.f Dryden
,for a new location but due to no zoning ordinance they are not interested
in Dryden. The Supervisor tried desperately to get Koppers Co. in
Dryden. This would involve an employment of 27 full -time jobs.
Copy o.f a letter from and to Mr. Mason, Supt. of Ithaca City School
Dist. regarding numbering o.f houses ,for school bus purposes were read.
