Present at.the twelfth meeting of the Town of Dryden Planning Board
held on September 25, 1958 at 8:00 p.m. in the,Town Offices were; Mr. Newman,
Mr. Baker, Mr. McGory, Mr. Hanshaw, Mr. James, and Mrs. Payne.
Mr. Newman supplied copies of the Dryden Ordinance as drafted thus far.
Under Article III, Section 3 (Ithaca %Ordinance Article III Section 6)
Mr. Newman left out the words,' except that a private garage may be built
across a common lot line with a party wall "by mutual agreement between ad-
joining property owners- After some discussion, the Planning Board adopted

this change.
A reference to the General Provisions, as yet in an unnumbered Article,
was attached to $rti.cle I9, Sedtion I, No. 79
When reviewing the Ithaca Ordinance, page 6, Sections 12, 13, and 14, were
tabled until such time as Mr. Sadd, Chairman, could be present to enter into
the discussion, since he has had more experience in these areas. Members_
concluded that ideas mentioned on the subject of shopping centers found on
page 76 of the brochure "Zoning in New York State" be incorperated into
these Sectionse
Most of the meeting was taken up by a spirited discussion on the
subject of choosing a. suitable industrial area in the Town and whether or
not certain objectionable industries should be arbitrarilly excluded. The
Board tentatively adopted a plan,, suggested by Mr. Newman, to wit: No industrial
district will be selected. Special approval by Town Board will be necessary
for industries to locate in the Townm The objectionable industries will be
listed as prohibited uses in the agricultural districts.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and corrected to include
the - information that Town of Ithaca Definitions had been tentatively adopted.
Mr. Hanshaw moved the meeting adjourn, seconded y Mr.' McGory.
