Home My WebLink About1991-12-18i 12/18/91 MEETING NOTES: DRYDEN YOUTH COMMISSION Present: Tom Hatfield, Vickie Alexander, Lean Reynolds, and Diana Radford County Youth Bureau: Don Wilson and Nancy Zahler Tom Dryden Youth Pride. coordinator, Barry Derfel. has completed final report for commission. Tom will sign and. deliver to Town Hall for payment. No discussion. General exchange: Wilson reviewed the draft of organization chart prepared by County Youth Bureau. Vickie Will contact student Council at school, Pres. David Burin, offer invitation to next meeting in Jan. Wilson Presentation to Commission, organizational chart and outlined information pertaining to the possible role of a 1/2 time Youth.Worker employed through agency ®contract or Town. Dan AS the former youth pride coordinator, expressed a need for youth worker to enhance direct' communication between Youth and Commission. Along these same lines, Dan felt that the Dryden and Freeville. communities may not have same youth problems as stated in County Comprehensive Plan, and Commission should address local issues first. Tom with limited resources, attempting a few priority needs is more important than attacking every concern area all at once.- ~ ~-- FOCUS-- The Commission requested that Wilson or Zahler contact Jim Johnston from Family and Children's Services to address commission at Jan .9, meeting, inorder to provide information about agency, th?.ir services and the expectations that commission members would have of a worker and sponsoring agency. Diana Sitter training .session for Carol and Diana at the Freeville Fire Hall, at this time they will obtain supplies and materials for 15.students enrolled. (12/31 starting date) ® vickie The Faculty Association is organizing a Community Day for School. District and will provide mini- cl.asses . This would be a great time to have "needs' survey presented by teachers. Recommended that survey should be brief, but to the point.
