1. New meetings are first and third Friday. I will work with Cassie on creating a calendar invite and sending an invite with Zoom link to everyone.
2. The broadband committee is looking for 2 new members. We’d like the current members
to write and submit a brief bio update on their background and interest in broadband. Our
goal is to have a diverse set of interested committee members helping out to build Dryden Fiber. I’ll work with Cassie on where to / how to send bios. We’ll also want to develop a
“committee job description” so we can post it in the Dryden Fiber newsletter and the Town
of Dryden newsletter.
3. Meeting minutes, specifically the recorded Zoom calls. I’ll work with Cassie on where / how these can be stored for later viewing. 4. Homework (for everyone) - review the document Dan Lamb shared this morning on the
original formation of the broadband committee. If you have any amendments: draft and email them to this list (publicbroadband@dryden.ny.us) and we’ll discuss amendments at a
future meeting.
5. For both meeting types (working session; KPI/metrics session), we want a time for
broadband committee members to share eyes and ears updates on questions, thoughts, feedback, blockers, positive stuff, news, etc. I will include this in the agenda template.
6. Legal question: Do we need disclosures for committee members to sign-off for
discussions about community members / customers? I will ask our legal representatives.
7. We need to do a better job identifying and illustrating the different vendors and their responsibilities. I will add this to Sharepoint and share.
8. We need to promote the FCC definitions of served, underserved, and unserved and then
ask the community to submit requests to FCC if they are incorrectly marked. This should be
done via the email blasts (by Dryden Fiber and by Town of Dryden). I will work with Cassie to promote this.
9. Finance report in Customer Base: Need to add $ signs. I will work with Amanda on this
request. 10. We would like a map of the requested parcels. This is in Hunt’s court, they have a list as
of 2/15/24.
11. Steven Hall shared that the lists of parcels includes column J, building type, which can
help us know if the building is “R” residential; “M” missed”; or B business. Amanda and Dave to review.
12. Refer a friend: It should work, per Dan’s quick investigation. We will start by requesting
to have the request service form updated to find out referral source. Then after 30 days,
we’ll have a better idea if our customers are already promoting the service, or if they need a little push with the $25 credit. I (Dave) will work with Netegrity on this field.
13. For the “$2 per foot beyond the first 500 feet” - we will continue this rate for the time
being. We believe people with very long driveways are aware of the cost of having those
long driveways. Tracy and Amanda have a process to quote the cost, get verbal approval, and then bill the customer. We are open to splitting up the installation fee over the course
of months, though we did not set the maximum number of months. 14. For the property owner agreement, we’re going to try to deploy the newest version with
the “Appendix A” draw a diagram of the installation. I will work with Tracy and Cassie on this for the next batch.
15. We (via Jason) are going to lobby for a change in NY State law so ISPs (i.e. Dryden Fiber)
have the same access to rental properties as Spectrum. Jason to provide updates to us.
16. We’d like an update on the outreach communication between Town of Dryden (Dan) and NYS DOT.
17. Reminder to follow-up / respond to the Lee Road request / concern about drainage and
underground fiber installation. I will check with Tracy on this task.
