Comprehensive Plan
The Town Board has a second draft that they are working on. Once they have a third draft they
are comfortable with, they are going to send it out to the public and the boards to get more comments.
There will likely be a public hearing before the Planning Board in September and the Town Board in
October on draft #3.
TMDL
Comment period has been extended. L Sparling is going to find out what the new date is.
Website
There’s a new town website. L Sparling is recommending the Ag Committee to look at the page
dedicated to Ag to make sure there’s nothing missing from the page that they feel should be on there.
NYStretch Energy Code
L Sparling sent out an email including the discussion of the Planning Board’s decision
recommending severance of the section on the Stretch Code that is at odds with the Uniform Code.
He would imagine the board will take that up at the next Town Board meeting.
Dryden Recreation Summer Camp
Marty Conger, Rec Director, would like to set up agricultural activities and educational
opportunities for the community. Not just for kids but adults too.
Community Garden/Rec Fields
The community garden may be relocated if the town decides to put in rec fields. The town
would like it to be closer to the village but the struggle is trying to find a place to put it and making sure
the soil is good for growing. The group that runs the garden is leasing the plot from the town. The
8/11/2021
garden isn’t being used like it should be. There are only 4 plots and the group has let it go in the last
couple of years.
L Sparling wants to include the ag committee because they are experts in the field. M McRae
and K LaMotte say it’s much different growing a garden vs commercial crop.
Planning, R Young, and J Leifer are working with Bernie Cornelius for a land exchange. Bernie
owns a large piece of land behind Town Hall. He hopes to trade the town a few acres of land in exchange
for a right of way to his property. If this happens, the Rec fields could go in.
On motion made by M McRae, seconded by K LaMotte, the meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.
Respectfully submitted,
Emily Banwell
Deputy Town Clerk
